Shake and Bake. Regardless of whether you think this coin is NT, AT or my favorite QT, a 30X markup is a little amusing.

I've got a Barber with a lot of blue in PCGS plastic... but I vote AT on that one. (And asking and getting are two different things.)

Oh but it is, green is impossible to reproduce on silver.

How to turn a $100 coin into a $3000 coin?

Find a sucker that does not know what AT is!

Or find a sucker that thinks the Reds will win the world series this year and gives u 30 to 1 odds (on a 100 dollar bet) !image

or catch a drunk with more money than they know what to do with it.

I wouldn't assume that the Barber dime is AT, but 3K does seem a bit steep for an MS 60.

I don't care what the toning looks like, did you see the hideous contact marks on the coin's obverse? You couldn't pay me to keep that POS in my collection.

MS60 is a grade reserved for the worst POS uncirculated coins out there...I wondered if there were enough contact marks to warrant a 60 or if it was graded down more for all the "corrosion". Jerry

How many new collectors will think the toning is "GENUINE" because PCGS says so right on the label?

If you don't think it's AT, I have a nice commemorative which I can let you have for a fraction of that price.

It's not the coin which is worth $3,000., it's the wording in the auction.

"Not many of these are left and ones with neon colors like this is as rare as finding "hen's teeth."

    I've been pondering this statement.
I don't understand. If a third party approved would you be more drawn to it?
Wouldn't change the coin a bit. It is obviously not common toning, but if you like it......?

No offense intended by the way. I know exactly what you are saying.
Just one of those things that made me think. I also like it from a purely aesthetic viewpoint.
O.K. I'm spending way too much time pondering. Back to work. image

Well, you have recognized it is not silver, however, green CAN be produced on silver... just have to have the right chemicals. Been done many times. Cheers, RickO
