<< <i>Paul - I was tracking the game on ESPN's Gamecast - those 9th inning walks were driving me crazy. Glad he was finally able to close it out. >>
I was watching it on CBS, I got Loney & Martin so I had a "vested interest" in the game
I think he had like 37 pitches in that inning, unbelievable that he gets himself caught up like that. I know he has blown a few saves this season so far but has been lucky enough that run support has gotten him a few W's!
<< <i>Jonathen Broxton has to be causing you guys some serious stress!
Other than that I think you guys still have the best team in the NL even without Manny in there, closely edging out the Sillies & Pets >>
Paul, Because of Broxton throwing almost 40 pitches in that game the Dodgers were forced to not pinch hit in the top of ninth for their pitcher with a runner on base so they could leave in Troncoso in for the bottom of the ninth instead of using Broxton. I think Broxton has some great stuff, but has some things to work on to be more efficient. I really wish the Dodgers would use the 8 million bucks they aren't paying Manny to get another quality pitcher.
The Dodgers just won another series last night and got another solid performance from Randy Wolf..Unfortunately Wolf got another NO Decision last night which I believe is his 10th ND of the year. He has a 3.29 ERA and I think he could easily be 6 or 7 and 2 right now.
The Dodgers are now 9 games in front and still have the best record in baseball right now with Manny due to start his minor league assignment next Tuesday. I'm sure Torre will have to find a way to get Pierre some more at bats with Manny back in the lineup.
Who knows...Maybe the Dodgers will get even better with Manny & Kuroda back in the line up and maybe they might make a key signing or trade very to get another player????
Great win last night against the Orange County Angels. If the Dodgers win tonight they will win another inter league series which they hadn't been doing in the past.
<< <i>YAY!!! Russell Martin hit his FIRST HR of 2009!
Freakin' ridiculas that it took so long though >>
No kiddin Paul, So I guess he's still on your fantasy team? lol

Oh yea, I got no other options, a 12 team league with everyone carrying 2 catchers its very difficult to find anyone to plug in. I got Barajas who is having a nice week on my bench though!
I couldnt sit him because if I did you KNOW he would have hit it while on my bench I went through the same thing with Loney, I sat him the week he hit his first two ( of only 3 )

Congrats to the Dodgers on winning the game and the series against the Orange County Angels. Also great to see another solid performance from Clayton Kershaw. He pitched his way out of a jam in the 4th and started throwing his curve ball for strikes and went into the 8th inning! The Dodgers are now 22 games over 500 and the Rockies and the Giants have been winning most of their games...Who knows, maybe the NL West might end up being a stronger division this year.
<< <i>Tough loss, It may be time to get Manny back. Still when you lead the Majors in hitting and pitching thing usually turn out on the positive note! >>
The Dodgers still had a shot to win last night, but there is not much a team can do when they are in the bottom of the 13th with the bases jammed. I've never been a fan of Weaver, but he's done a good job for the Dodgers for the most part this year. I guess we'll just chalk that up as one of his bad outings. That's the first series they have lost in a month and they are still the only team in MLB to have not lost 3 in a row this year.
Lets hope for another solid performance from Kershaw tonight.
I forgot to give Kuroda props for an awesome outing the other night. I think that's the best stuff I've ever seen him have. If he can stay on track that could be the big push the Dodgers have needed. Plus Kuroda is kinda their #1 starter too.
As usual Kev, you always reuse stupid statements or quotes from previous attempts. Just focus on your Phils trying to be 4 or 5 games over .500 while the Dodgers will push it up to 30 games over .500......
Oh yeah, have you noticed the NL West is a little tougher than you thought?
<< <i> Hey Dodger fans, the post season just called, they said no one cares about the regular season, please pass this on to Man Ram and Brox.
Sincerely, Rick Monday, Davie Lopes and all the other old crusty guys who were around the last time the Dodgers actually won one! >>
Kevin, As always you have your facts wrong and have your head up your azz. The last time the Dodgers one the World Series was in 1988 and was without Lopes and Monday...Monday retired in 84 and Lopes left the Dodgers in 1981. Please at least do a quick fact search before you do your stupid letters with your wrong facts.
Also, No one cares about the regular season? Then why do you have to post stuff about the Phillies every time they win? I guess you do watch all of the games. lol
<< <i>ohhh 88, how could you forget that power team...NOT
Welcome to the 21st century, congrats on all your divison titles! >>
Ok, Here are the divisional titles by each team since 1988.
Dodgers , 1988 Won World Series 1994 No Playoffs that year 1995, 2004, 2008
Phillies 1993, 2007 2008 Won World Series
Wow, I didn't realize the Phillies had won so many titles in the last 20 years. So sorry for my confusion. At least the Dodgers had a reason for their lack of success. When Fox bought the team they kind of traded big contracts and depleted their farm system. Now the new owner McCourt is getting somewhere. What is the Phillies excuse? I guess cause its Phillietown.

Well No Dodger in the All Star Game starting lineup. The Boys will get a well deserved rest. And as for what place your in and who has won more games than others, Its always tough from the top looking down!
I only worry about my lifetime. Since 1968 the Dodger's have been very successful. They only won the series in '81 and '88 but they went to the series in '74, 77, 78. They have gone to the playoffs many times. Basically they have done substantially better than most teams. Also, during my 41 years they have had very few down years. Go BLUE!
Great start to against the Mets last night. As far as Manny....I don't think leading 5 - 0 warranted Manny getting upset and ejected, but it looked like the homeplate ump had Man on zero tolerance last night. The strike 3 looked suspect to say the least, but it goes to show that you never show the umpire up at the plate. Either way, its another win.
Oh yeah....Dodgers fans be sure to get in your Matt Kemp to All Star Game votes.
<< <i>Are we going to have Manny updates during the All Star game, are they going to break away from action to see what Manny is doing on the couch?
Manny just ate a chicken taco
Manny just popped some pills
Manny just killed no one and raped no one
Manny just....... >>
All I gotta say to you Kev is you show a lack of class when you always make your negative comments in other teams threads.
If Manny wasn't big news the networks wouldn't give him so much coverage. U get it? Just because there aren't any Phillies that don't compare to Manny isn't my problem.
Just wondering why the Phillies have such a bad record at home right now? Is it a reflection of their fans? lmao
<< <i>2 out of 3 in NY will take that! On to Brew country! >>
Yes, another road series win for the bluecrew!!! I wish they would have saved some runs for another game. lol Looking like the NL West is getting stronger every week.
I can't believe the Dodgers gave up their lead, but it was great seeing the big comeback in the 9th and 10th innings. Wow did Matt Kemp hit that grandslam far. Did anyone see it land yet???
You know things are good when your team seems to be playing not its best ball, its closer is hurting, and it goes 6-3 on the road! Its Break time let the boys rest!
<< <i>You know things are good when your team seems to be playing not its best ball, its closer is hurting, and it goes 6-3 on the road! Its Break time let the boys rest! >>
Very true!!! Glad to see Kershaw settling down on the road. Now he's just gotta stop those base on balls.
Kershaw, if he stay healthy could be the next big pitcher in Baseball. Has all the tools to be a name everyone will be talking about for quite a while!
It's not September/October but liking how things are going so far.
Will be curious what happens at the trade deadline. I don't want to make a Don Stanhouse like pick up though. I say GO BIG or stay home in terms of trades. Halladay or Cliff Lee.
Funny how the Giant's have all the starting pitching this year.
Clayton Kershaw!!!!! Now 8 and 5 with a 2.95 after going 7 innings last night and only giving up 1 bb!!! If only Billingsley will get back into form!!!!!!!!
Monday night will be Jason Schmidt starting for the first time since 07. Hopefully he can be the missing piece the their rotation,
It wasnt easy , Kershaw pitch Great, then it got interesting. It would be nice to get a win or two out of Schmidt. (must be his contracts final year needs big numbers for free agency!!!)
I guess we'll have to be happy with a split with the Astros.
A win by Schmidt tomorrow night will be big and will make his wins at just over 20 million $ a win . No matter what happens, I give Schmidt a thumbs up for never giving up.
