the CS probably just knows the "policy" and doesn't know the exact details of this card...

If someone is unsure, why would they be working there??? Would you feel safe going to a hospital having surgery performed if the doctor was unsure on what he was doing? Get your head out of the sand guys, wake up...
How airtight is security on these packages? Do we know with 100% certainty the card packaged and sent is the same card the grader sees? Can Graders be collectors or is that considered a conflict of interest? If Graders are not collectors does that make training more difficult?
i Dont have a problem with someone being unsure, but beacuse they are unsure they Label it EOT versus MSR it hits all of our Pocket books, Again i think the grader should Educate Us to what he saw so that we accept it or not. But every grader should be held responsible for his or her Final Grades.
1) BBCE sponsors a group "case fresh" rip on CU 2) Group rips and scans cards on CU 3) Some of group submits said cards to PSA 4) PSA deems some said cards EOT and customer serivce hassles submitter
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Since were on to possible conspiracy theories, maybe leathtech did a switch on the card, and sent in a trimmed one? It's also possible that the box was a bad one that got by Steve? Although those possibilities are ever so slight..... My belief is that it's a rookie grader that made a mistake....he was to confident in his decision to let another person look at it....
"How airtight is security on these packages? Do we know with 100% certainty the card packaged and sent is the same card the grader sees? Can Graders be collectors or is that considered a conflict of interest? If Graders are not collectors does that make training more difficult? "
I was thinking the same thing... it's an interesting (and disturbing) thought.
What will be interesting is, if this card get MSR'd... how certain (Leathtech) can you be that the one you get back IS the one you sent in?
I really hate this for you... I sure hope it get's righted and righted fast. I'm not ready to pull anchor on PSA... but would like to see a little more consistency.
I would like to see ALL cards slabbed, maybe come up with a (EOT) or (MSR) qualifier.
Best of luck Leathtech, I'm anxiously awaiting a positive out-come! I'm also hoping a positive outcome re-assures Felicia so we can start enjoying her rip!
I would like to see ALL cards slabbed, maybe come up with a (EOT) or (MSR) qualifier.
I agree with the MSR qualifier, beacuse the fact is the Card is Genuine Factory cut but a Factory defect Beacuse of Size etc Give the potential buyer another Option to a OC,PD,ST type of purchase
That is so crazy. You should get Steve from BBC to contact PSA to let them know you got this Jordan from the group break. PSA says trimming on your Jordan but yet gives the T 206 Wagner a PSA 8 when it was cut from a sheet. This just shows you the problem with these granding companies. If your Jordan was sent in by one of their big customers it would have come back PSA 10!

Just so everyone knows I did nothing of the sort... the card went from pack to card saver to post office to psa.
I believe there is less than .00000000000000000000000001% chance the OP would trim a legit card that alot thought would grade a PSA 9.
The card is good and PSA made a mistake. A mistake that will cause him some headache and worries rightfully so.
I could not imagine pulling an MJ from a pack and it coming back EOT- when I submitted both of mine in person at the big shows it never crossed my mind it may not be big enough or trimmed.
I can tell you 86-87 fleer is not known for having smaller and larger cards in a pack(MSR)- the whole pack is exactly the same size in my experience.

<< <i>Joe has said that up to 3 people will look at a card only if the 1st person is unsure.

IMO 1 person graded that card.
My question is why did the OP have to call CS back and tell them Joe wants to look at the card before it ships? He can't do that?
That confused me.
Steve >>
Good question... When I called CS the first time they said nothing could be done. I asked if they would review the card again and I explained the history of the card and how the break took place on the PSA board. The lady that answered the phone said that nothing could be done and she was sure the graders were correct because the card had been looked at by 3 different graders. I then asked if I could resub the card and she basically said no because the graders would have the same opinion that the card was EOT.
The next step was an e-mail to Steve at the BBCE, he gave me JO's executive assistant's contact information.
Next I got an automated reply that she was out of the office today. So I figured what the heck and just copied the same e-mail and sent it Joe.
Within an hour he sent an e-mail back saying he would look into the issue.
In about 30 mins he e-mail back again saying to call CS and ask for them to put a hold on the package or sent it back to PSA to JO attention.
After calling CS back and trying to explain again what happened to a new CS lady, she found the package still at PSA and was going to direct it to Joe. She sound generally surprised that Joe had gotten involved in the situation.
PSA knows that Tech would send that Jordan card back in a Hot second! so that meens he pays Double, Everyone at PSA knows any Jordan card that u have in your hand u will send back
<< <i>Maybe the postman did a switcharoooooo!!!!!!!! >>
the card was sealed up like it was the most expensive diamond in the world.
I organized this rip because I always wanted to open a pack with a Jordan... I would have sent it in even it had four ding'ed corners and big chip taken out of the side.
The whole experience has been a big buzz kill for me!
based on my experience re: the jordan i pulled a while back, i think it is a mistake and psa will make amends. the card looks like a solid 9 at a minimum. i subbed mine 2x to get the 9 i thought it deserved. however, the first attempt was not EOT.
good luck leath, stay optimistic.
Thanks,

Hmmmmm... how can we raise the EPS? Let's think ... we need more revenue ... How are we going to do that ... I wonder ... HEY, when people get grades lower than expected do you think they would crack and resubmit? NAH ... we can't do that ... it's unethical ... and after all, our customers are so loyal to us ... without them we would have nothing!
STAY HEALTHY!
