You absolutely can cancel someone's order if you have the order number and name. Not everyone has an account when you order on the web. You really have to be careful.

I'd have to believe too that the price is going up due to the increase in the price of gold since the 22nd.

Pretty much everyone knows these will be much smaller, but for an good indication of size you can stack two Golden dollars together and that will extremely close to the width and diameter of the new UHR gold coins. I just hope that I am not disappointed by these. The Early Golds are amazing and I do have high hopes for these.

Two 1/2 oz gold eagles stacked or two 1/2 oz gold buffaloes stacked would be a closer approximation.

Yes and No. It is a one year issue so that in itself will establish a limit. Supposedly there will be no limit during the year but as of now it is still only one per household and of course the Mint could stop taking orders anytime due to lack of blank availability or whatever.

VERY Ineresting! So we have now confirmed that going from hold to "in process" is not being done sequentially. Perhaps considerations such as mode of delivery are in play. Alternatively, different clerks may have been assigned to different batches and some are moving faster than others. On the other hand, the change from "on hold" to "in process" may just be semantic and not mean there is any difference between the two as to which coin goes out first.

Although my order went to "In Process" today, the line items still show backordered with a 2/06 expected ship date. Normally the next step would be to see "In stock and reserved", followed by the disappearance of the Cancel box, at which point I would go to the Fed Ex Alternate Ref tracking and see if it shows up. I don't know if the Fed Ex angle will work with the distribution center - aren't they using UPS now? Does UPS have an "Alternate Reference" tracking method?

No, because those numbers represent all orders from the U.S. Mint. Based on some extrapolation it would appear that without the UHR there would have been 4000 orders per day at the most so you can subtract 20,000 from that number and comfortably conclude that at least 65,000 UHR's have been ordered to date. I believe someone at the Mint threw out the figure of 75,000 at the end of last week as an estimate though they may have just been referring to all orders.

Looking like the book is going to go for a higher premium than the coin as it is starting to look like it will be rarer than the UHR itself!
trozau the "Master Collector" with 7161 posts was spot on.
