I noticed Stevek did NOT answer to my claim as to his Phillies and their 100 million bloated payroll.

And just how did they get Jason Werth and Shane Victorino?

When Cole Hamels become arbitration eligible don't you think he is going to cash in?

Anyone that knows anything (sorry Stevek) Free agency has not hurt ML baseball the way ARBITRATION has.

    Steve
    Good for you.

Yankees and Mets fans, enjoy your era of "stealing" players from other teams, enjoy your era of using the rest of the major leagues as though it was your farm system, enjoy it all while you can which isn't bringing you WS championships anyway...because a salary cap is a comin'...and then your team's management will have to learn to be smart like all the other teams.

This is probably the most ignorant statement I have ever read here in this forum.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • <<Growing up my teams were the Pirates and the Mets>>

WinPitcher, Merry Christmas! The question begs, how can you root for 2 teams in the same division?

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

Back when I was growing up there was only 1 league, no divisions.

As a kid the Mets were constantly a 50 win team.

One also needed a 'good team' to root for.

I always liked the Pirates for some odd reason.

If the 2 played one another I'd root for the Mets.

    Happy Holidays to you too!

    Good for you.

<< <i>But to come up with the statement "It was wishful thinking" (leave it up to a Yankees fan! Right Steve?)

Sorry to burst your bubble here Robert but I am not a Yankees fan.

Growing up my teams were the Pirates and the Mets.

As for me being naive as per Stevek's nonsense .......Yawn

Well, I was half right! (Those Red Sox fans)....

Steve, I've known for years you were a fan of the NY Metropolitans, so I stereotyped u as a Yankee fan too! Sorry!

I am appalled and deeply resent that remark.....

I got you guys to give me my first 100 response post. I would like to thank each and every one of you who contributed to
this amazing accomplishment. Especially Stevek and all those loveable Yankee fans.

I knew Tex was going to sign before Christmas, and I guessed he'd either sign with the Yankees or Red Sox. So before
I went away for the holiday's, I decided to get the holiday juices flowing between the two greatest rivals in sport.

I see that it worked image

Yeah it worked, it showed how wrong people on the internet usually are.

    Stevek leads the pack.

Yes we are. It's titled, "How many donuts can a coach eat in one sitting?"
