Does anyone have any information on where the Hairston chrome cards are showing up? Are they in hobby, retail, or blaster boxes exclusively, or are they found in more than one type of box? I've only seen six show up for sale; I hope this means there are 1953 more out there to be found.

as time goes on more and more show up and then the prie will drop alot.Did the guy who bought one for a few bucks ever receive it?

Was able to sneak in a box before the family knew what was going on (Eventually the sounds of "Where's Daddy?" won out) - nothing special to report, a handful of chromes, couple of refractors, and a Geordie special "GU" card... What is everyone doing with the regular Topps Updates cards anyway?

Later that day, I received a confirmation email from beckett that the card had shipped, but I have not received it yet. Hopefully tomorrow or monday.

Nothing good to report yet - thru 2 1/2 boxes I have three "game used" cards with no ink. What's even worse is that one of the jersey cards features none other than Erik Bedard, which as a Mariner fan is particularly sickening. I guess I can put it in the stack with all the damn Sexson jersy cards I've been pulling for the last couple of years... Go Ms!

I smell ink in your future

Didn't get anything decent out of the 2 boxes I ripped last night but picked this up at the PO this morning

My Hairston came from a hobby box. The guy who sold the first one said that he pulled his from a hobby box.

I bought four Heritage jumbo packs Walmart. Crap.

I'll definitely be up for some trading as soon as I crack the rest of my case and get sorted guys. We're looking at a "blizzard" here tonight, 4-6" of snow and high winds. Don't laugh - this is Seattle after all. I may be opening packs by candlelight in a parka if we lose power tonight...

Sorry if I missed it, but does anyone have a spread sheet of ad panels?

edited to say- thank you to those who responded, it is much appreciated!

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Snuck in a bit more cracking earlier - Box 6 yielded a Bob Gibson game used pants card, and Box 7 had a Maury Wills blue auto - not bad. The whole updates and high number thing seems far less exciting than the normal set, maybe it's the fact I barely recognise any of these guys...
  • Options
I agree with you - hopefully 2009 Heritage will yield more excitement although the high numbers seem to have good value in them (or maybe I have just been lucky with my boxes).

Not sure if this was a mistake or not but I bought two blasters over the weekend at ShopKo and they rang up at $9.99 a piece. I went back to see if they had more but I had grabbed the last two.

That's great man - awesome score.

You gonna flip it? As of this morning, there were none on Ebay and mine was the last one that sold on Saturday.

<< <i>My scanner is down at the moment, but my Hairston chrome did indeed arrive today - 0116/1959.

So none of the six that have been advertised/bought have had a serial number above 0183/1959.

OK, case is finished. I have to say that the combination of not knowing many of the players and the distinct lack of a single good pull made this the most disappointing Heritage or A&G case break for me to date. Ended up with three autos (all blue) - Dusty Rhodes, Maury Wills, and Fred Lewis. The only "game used" worth mentioning is a Bob Gibson pants card. Ugh - time to start sorting. All the autos and the Gibson are available, I guess I'll be looking to finish my chrome set in trade...

I mentioned this earlier in this thread somewhere but did anybody else pull a completely blank card from a pack?

This isn't one of those decoy cards used to trick pack searchers, it's a regular size thickness card that was definitely supposed to be a real Heritage card but topps missed the front and the back of it.

Both the front and the back have the exact texture of the real thing, just missing all the ink. I kept it and put it in with my set. Wondering if it was maybe supposed to be one of the Hairston cards although there's no hint that it would have been a Chrome card. The placement in the pack was where and autograph or chrome card would have been as well

Just wondering if anyone else happened to get one. Think I busted about 25 boxes of this and it's the only one like it I've seen

Don't think scanning it would help anything image

Anyone working on panel sets? I need about 20 of the high number panels, and have the same number or so to trade, as well as a ton of the low number panels.
Also have lots of low number GU, looking for high number ones.

Since I can't possibly walk into a store and see Heritage packs and not buy them, I bought 23 loose packs from Newbury Comics while looking for a DVD at lunch today

Obviously from 2 different boxes cause I got 10 reg chrome also.

Nice pull on the Snider! I pulled one as well and sold it on EBay for around $100 or so.

I was sorting my cards and noticed almost all of my #510 Joe "the Red Nosed" Saunders cards have a tiny piece of extra cardboard in the top left corner. Anyone else notice that? So far the Saunders cards are the only one's I've noticed it on, and I did not notice it until I had them sorted together in a stack of cards.

    Knopflers,

I have 17 of the Joe Saunders cards and 16 of them have the tiny piece of cardboard and one does not. Let me know if you want it and it is yours. I have never even noticed it -- good catch!

Was I the only one who saw this?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290284483060&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=019

I won at $18.01, including postage, and today received my five chrome cards, including 285, Jerry Hairston, Jr., 0174/1959. At $3.60 per card, it's not quite as good a deal as Mudflap got, but it's still a lot better than $250-300.

Still trying to provide a scan.
