OK, after a little eBay surfing I'm in.......but just for 3 boxes (for now).
How could I pass up 3 boxes for $155 shipped, and then $36 back in 60 days from the Microsoft discount? Before the discount it was $155/3 = $51.67 per box shipped (which was already fair to me), and then after I get the discount it's $119/3 = $39.67 per box.
Hi Whammy. You can make fun of my willpower (or lack thereof) if you like, but until you see me post that I have a case on the way, I'm really not "in" yet. These 3 boxes will hopefully satisfy my "needs" until 2009 heritage shows its face.
By the way, I haven't seen or heard a peep about 2009 heritage yet, but that just may be because Topps doesn't want to step on 2008 heritage high number's toes just yet.
Does anyone have a picture of the wrapper for retail? Speaking of odds, I would be interested to know if the odds are similar for retail versus hobby and if there are any retail only cards.
I came home with the 7 remaining boxes of the case I started. The store had one of the boxes open since he got them in and it was still full so I ended up with the whole case
Fred Lewis blue auto (almost missed it and only did see it when looking at the backs to separate the black backs) 2 chrome ref - Jay Bruce OC 8 reg chrome - Cueto
The cards I have are for sale but if you want to trade I ONLY trade for cards on my want lists (in EX or better condition). If anyone is interested in buying you can buy on my secure web site. If anyone is interested in trading, please send me a private message.
Thanks for looking and I will try to get some pics here in a minute.....
EBay sellers who are selling sets of high number chrome (201-300) are indicating in their ads that card 285, Jerry Hairston, does not exist as a chrome but does appear as a refractor and a black refractor. Anyone seen a Hairston chrome?
Is the Regular Issue Topps Update set (2 per pack) the same set Topps is selling as a stand alone or is it a different set. I hope that's not a trend, it feels like Topps is selling a six card pack for the same price.......a cheap marketing ploy to raise the price of the product without raising the price.
Topps has announced the just-released 2008 Topps Heritage Baseball High Number Edition features several short printed cards including 648 (Ian Stewart), 677 (Ryan Langerhans) and cards 686 – 719.
Short-printed cards can be found 1:3 packs. Each $3 pack of Heritage High Number features 6 Heritage Cards, 2 Topps Updates Cards and 1 stick of gum.
Black back variation list. #514,523,529,531,532,538,539,541,542, 545,549,557,563,579,581,583,584,592,595,596,597,602,607,619, 621,626,639,649,651,653,655,659,661,672,682.
This is good stuff. I've opened 3 boxes - no ink and no black refractors though. Did pull a Bob Gibson GU though, but it's a Group B retired player, rather than the tough Group A's. I've won all the Gomes black refractors so far (4 of them), so we'll see how many more show up.
I bought three blasters today at our new Target. A big thumbs down for retail. 9 SPs, 1 chrome, some of the inserts - not much else. 'Course Zep will go out and buy a couple and find a pack with three red inks in the same pack. <sigh>
<< <i>Any way you can post the odds for retail packs or blaster retail packs?

Craig - sorry, I completely forgot about your request. Boxes have already been trash-canned. If I get a chance, I'll swing by the local Target/Wally-World and write them down.

<< <i>Nick - did you get those from 'cardsandcoins'? You've got me seriously tempted. >>
Yeah Geordie. That price plus the Microsoft discount spun me right round like a record baby.
Nice willpower.
