Thank you to everyone for the congrats. And hats off to the Rays and Rays fans - that was a closer Series than the 4 - 1 result indicated and the Rays were quite impresive with their tenaciousness and desire to win - a terrific effort that just fell a bit short.
Someone, might have been Matt, said in another thread to enjoy the moment and I fully intend to do that. I remember 1980 very well, the last Phillies championship, and the Phillies had one heckuva ballclub back then and had been to the playoffs a few times in the late 70's - you kinda feel that it might last forever or at least for quite awhile, but of course it never does. Matt's current avator, General Patton, said that "Glory is fleeting" and that certainly is true. So I'll enjoy the "glory" of this wonderful Phillies season and as Grote15 said in another thread...it'll all start again in 2009.
Thanks again for the congrats and I'll have you know what I've stated before, that I've never met a fellow card collector who I didn't like, and perhaps the feeling may not always be mutual and that's okay, but I still mean that statement - I enjoy the conversation, the smack, as well as the rest with everyone here and look forward to a lot more in the future
