  • I'm glad PCGS joined YouTube. Obviously, more exposure for them. I enjoy the CMC videos. David looks comfortable and presents himself well in front of the camera. It's good to have the option of catching the PCGS videos while I'm over at YouTube listening to music videos, etc.

His final statement: "I urge everyone to stay liquid and enjoy your coins."

Question: Does this mean to sit on what you have, but don't spend now to buy more?
    When in doubt, don't.

    Dennis,

I can just tell you what Van and I are doing.

We are buying coins, but we are not using credit card debt to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Mr. Hall's way of looking at pricing. I have been preaching this to the guys at the firehouse for years. Products do not go up in price, the value of the money goes down. In fact, using inflationary calculators, MOST products and goods have actually become cheaper than in the past, but this is disguised by our ever more worthless fiat monetary system!

    David:

Taking on credit card debt has never been part of my buying strategy either, and I agree wholeheartedly with your position. Personally, I think some bargains are going to open up in my modest shopping level in the coin market as this meltdown plays out, which is where I hope your advice to stay liquid is going to come in handy.
    When in doubt, don't.

I'm sure if I had the cash available I'd do so as well.

    But since I don;t, well then................ I guess I just don't!

Exactly! Cash for coins, credit for groceries.

It's a candid few minutes of someone I would trust in the White House with my coins.

Seemed like a level-headed evaluation to me.

interesting he spends a lot of time quoting the PCGS Coin Priceguide which has been shown time and time again to be completely unrealistic .............

I would agree with the above statement, however, if you are in a position to pay off your credit card balance monthly & not incur finance charges, then by all means charge it. That's 30+ more days of interest that you are earning on your checking account + my card issues a 1% credit on all purchases made, the following month.
