CASHBACK RAW DEAL

Other threads sing the joys of receiving thier Cashback from MSN

I am one of those fighting with those idiots for my cashback

It's been 63 days, never creditied to my account, never paid to me.

Eligible purchase, supplied them all data, MSN blames the delay on EBAY, EBAY says they have nothing to do with the offer.

I've just about had it with well over 20 emails and online chat with MSN support over 2 months time

I'm prepared to file a claim against MSN on Monday

I've been told there are several thousand people in the same boat, same problem, technical issues, that never get resolved......

So it isnt always a great deal, be careful.......

I dont trust offers or rebates where you have to jump through hoops to get your money. Frustration is almost certain to follow, sorry about your experience.

I made three eBay purchases in July based on the Microsoft Cashback promotion. The first rebate is scheduled to hit my PayPal account on Tuesday 9/23, followed by two more within less than a week. If I don't get all three payments, I'll just tell eBay to pound sand on my last invoice from them.

7over8, when you click on the link to the auction you won using paypal and MS cashback, what does it say at the top? Normally it should say "Paid with PayPal on (date of payment)." I had the same problem where it made it seem like payment was being processed when in fact it went through fine. Check your paypal records of your transaction and see if payment was listed as sent. If so, call paypal and have them talk to MS about your cashback problems. Tell them that the payment went through according to your paypal records even though it lists as not going through on ebay. That was what I did and they quickly gave me my cashback. I hope this information will help you out.

seems like from what i've heard, the same issue happened to 100's or more people (customer service told be thousands?)

it is really a poor customer service experience with MSN Cashback, they have a terrible problem resolution process

I called PAYPAL and they are now involved, and seem to have a MSN Cashback resolution contact/dept

Maybe now the red tape will be cut. Time will tell.

I stand by my previous posts, I WILL NEVER USE THIS PROGRAM AGAIN.

For me there was a 60 day delay, then another two weeks wait before the funds were available in my Paypal. Give it at least a couple more weeks before you start filing a class action lawsuit.

actually there are some problems with the funding of paypal account with the cashback money from microsoft, now, at least for me.

i went online chat yesterday @ live.com and all they could say was you (i) will get an email in a couple of days, that they coould not resolve the problem

all of the other process up to this point has been fine the registering, the waiting, the request payment, the 14 day wait....now it's all clammed up.

It did not work out well for me either....I have never gotten the $ posted to my acct. Followed up with MSN, eBay etc. and have gotten a some emails saying it is under investigation, etc. but still no resolution so I am not holding out hope. The funny thing is that if it had worked out I would have bought an HP computer using another Cashback promo I rcvd in an email so because of the problems the first go round I am sort of hesitant to ever use it again.

Well, if that's what it takes to get their attention, then so be it. Freezing my account will have no effect on my activity. I'll sell by consignment when necessary and bid via agent when necessary. After all, they're just a venue, eh? image

I'm actually at 77 days in the wait for my first rebate. It is looking more every day as if the promotion was crafted in such a way that very few participants will actually qualify and benefit. I'm glad I wasn't expecting hundreds or thousands back image

Well, I admit I was highly skeptical at first. I used it to buy 3 1oz Buffalos though, and pulled in $717.60 cashback. I'm now in the 14-day window waiting for the first payment to appear in my Paypal account, and I have to say that it's looking good so far.

    Fingers crossed ...

  • I'm now officially on both sides of the fence.

My first one was July 1st, for 250.00. It came back two weeks ago this Friday, 13 days into my 14 day hold. Money spent just fine. image

My second two were both July 8th. Fourteen days was this past Saturday. I emailed yesterday, I received one response back so far but no answer what the hold up is. I am having my doubts that there is some problem and they may be looking for a way out of paying off on these now. image

Frank.....i looked at the link but most of us went through the entire process though Live.com, eBay and PayPal....

some have been paid their rebates i think a lot of big buying went on for PM's on eBay because of the info i read here, i was one of them, others here, too.

i read all the fine print, even though i thought it was TGTBT (too good to be true) figuring that this was a "loophole" for PM buyers or coin collector's to buy an item that would hold or increase in value, something very very different form buying a radio, a crib or someones used garage sale type stuff off of eBay.

it's too early to say "i told you so".... but who knows, at least i hope you now know the money (cashback) doesn't come from the seller..

  • I am owed for 2 cashbacks as of last Saturday.I called Microsoft yesterday and they said the problem was on paypals side,so i called paypal and they said Microsoft hasn't sent the money and that they would escalate it to a claim.Suppose to hear back in 48 hours according to paypal.image

  • I've been dealing with the same issue, purchased two items in july,
MSN said that they were having EBay investigate and confirm(heard nothing in over a month)
I called Ebay yesterday and they said the just cleared it(I'm sure because I called)
So today I checked with MSN account and still not there but they said it could take 48 hours,
Also, MSN has an online chat service if you don't want to wait for email messages back and forth.

If folks are having problems, then contact someone (MSN/Paypal/Ebay/etc), and seem to be getting some traction, wouldn't it be nice that they also list those emails for others with problems instead of making them hunt for them?

  • I've emailed through the Live.Com Support site

Did this yesterday, was told they would get back to me in 24 hours. I received one email:

    "Hello Rob,

Thank you for contacting Live Search cashback Customer Support. I am sorry to hear that you have yet received your cashback payment. However, in order to check your account, I will need you to provide us with your Windows Live ID. Your Windows Live ID is the e-mail address you use to sign into Live Search cashback. You can simply reply back to this message with your Windows Live ID and we will be more than happy to assist you with your issue.

We look forward to your response. Thank you again for contacting Live Search cashback Customer Support. Have a great day!"

To which I responded with my ID. Nothing else.

I sent another email after 24 hours, still no response (this was just today).

I then did the live chat, was told it would be escalated to their technical support team, and that it should have been paid by 14 days. This was about 5 hours ago. They also said they would respond via email.

That's it so far for me. Again, I DID get the first 250 that was done a week earlier. This one is for 500.

Staircoins, you might want to cross your toes as well. If you requested your initial cashback award exactly 60 days after your July 9 purchase, then it should have appeared in your PP account on 9/21. Rots 'o Ruck on that one....
It is interesting that MicroSuck is claiming a FUBAR with PayPay. Maybe we should all revise our selected payment method to check by mail. I'd like to see their excuse then for non-payment.image

But hearing the issues others of having it makes it clear not to a purchase decision based on receiving this cashback offer.

  • I made a few Ebay accounts when the Cashback deal came out and made 11 successful transactions for gold bullion coins(1 failed) with the cashback over about a week period. I had all 4 cashbacks accounts sent to 1 paypal address and they put a little over $2600 dollars in my paypal account, so no problems here. Also this was when gold was shooting up and I ended up making an extra 800 bucks with bullion increase. It worked for me and 2 other co-workers. I can't complain about free money.

I have 4 payments coming, from 9/7,9/9,9/10,9/14. I just looked at my live.com account and it now says "Microsoft will initiate a payment to you in approximately 7 days." INSTEAD of the 14 days that was there before. Maybe it will be done by 9/30 like someone else said.

I have always been skeptical of these promotions and have elected to not participate in them. I do not like giving out my personal info to anyone, even if it means I don't get free money. That being said, I hope everyone who jumped thru the hoops is paid back in full. I suspect there will be some major lawsuits if everyone isn't made whole at some point. Again, good luck with your cash back and let us know if/when you get your $$.

My first one was requested 9/5 and was held up. A couple of days ago, it went into "within 7 days" instead of "within 14 days". My new one, initiated today, went into immediate "within 7 days". I'll wait and see as I didn't buy things just to get cashback and it never does any good to just get bent out of shape.
