Since i can't seem to buy silver at a good price I think I'll offer my
platinum up for trade for Silver. Do you think this is a good move or ???

i am not sure if it is a good move or not but why did you not sell
it a few months ago when it was sky high? it has lost a good percentage
of its value and should bottom out shortly (i think).

i guess i will take a stand and say yes, i would rather have silver
then plat at this point in time.
  • No question.... YES.

  • Sounds pointless to me. Silver and platinum are down about the same percentage from their highs. Both are semi-industrial metals. Depending on what price you paid for the platinum and the dollar value amount, the tax man might come after you for his share.

Maybe if you can find a sweetheart deal, but if a person can't find silver at a good price in your area, it seems unlikely that they will find someone to take platinum at a good exchange rate for silver, if silver is at a premium price in that region.

I'm not sure why you would do that, since both metals have good potential and good fundamentals. I wouldn't incur the transaction costs for that type of trade unless I knew something specific that motivated me more toward silver than platinum.

Do you know anything specific that would cause you to like silver more at this time?

IF GM and F are the next jokers in line for a Federal "bail-out," Platinum is likely a keeper.
