It does not surprise me at all that a card could be a 6 one day and an 8 on another.
True Ex/Mnt cards often appear to be mint upon first glance. Be advised that I am not talking about 6's that are 6's as a result of centering issues. Those are net graded cards.
Often times a grader will see the slightest of honest wear on 2 corners and that makes the card an EX/MNT one.
The next time thru (for whatever reason) the grader does not see the wear or sees it not as severe.
Such cards were born as true mint cards and along the way suffered some slight wear. These cards are normally centered properly have perfect registration, no print dots etc.
I thought it would be an 8.5 so an 8 is about right to me.
Playing devil's advocate is it really worth all the expense of re-grading when the card has little chance of getting a 10? I mean what does a 9 typically sell for? $30 or $40? $50? I don't know so am just asking. It just seems like a lot of expense and trouble without a ton of upside.
if this card were to pull a 9 (which i thought initially it would), it would've been worth a few more resubmissions. however, i think the card has more corner wear (top left) than the original submission. i am pleased to be back in an 8 holder.
