Cleaned and/or recolored copper??
How can you tell? Is there a simple method of telling? The one example I've seen that I was told that the color had been "altered" I just couldn't see it. give me some help on this please.

I have sent IHC to PCGS (same coin 3 time. bodybaged twice and the third time was the charm MS65RD.. You tell me?

Or maybe a piece that has been dipped and left to re-tone naturally.
Recoloring is usually done (or should be at least) with a darkening agent.
They can be very deceiving when done properly, but usually just look a little off. It takes a good eye sometimes, but seeing enough material increases your chances of picking it up.
