Ballistic Rolls of Pres. Dollars.

Does anyone know of anybody who has fallen for this tripe?
I think I'll puke if I see one more full page advertising FREE COINS in BALLISTIC ROLLS!
There's another full page ad in the Peoria Journal Star today.
These also show up in Parade magazine.
Enough already!

I agree with everything said, but the thing I wonder is what the heck is a ballistic roll of coins?imageimage
  • Hey - I used to live in Peoria and still read the Journal-Star online. The ads are not on their website and it's a good thing or I might go ballistic!

I've seen these and they really are outrageous. A true test of marketing versus stupidity.

Like my wife. image - She ordered them straight out of a magazine add.
  • Wow! They are free (for $124.00) and they give you another free coin! This might be too good to be true! I think I am going ballistic!

I couldn't agree more!!! Same company did this with the Minnesota statehood quarter recently. Same lies about how "rare" the MN statehood quarter is and that they are almost all gone! But you could get a roll for free, if you pay the $49.95 shipping cost and associated fees. I brought the ad to our coin club meeting the next week and there were a few newer, older collectors thinking this was a deal. I tried nicely to tell them it was a rip-off, but I don't think they believed me.
  • They also have adds for "special" rolls of the Jefferson/Buffalo nickels.... 25 count rolls!!!

Wish I could get one of the ballistic roll boxes!! [keep the coins]. image

What the hell does this mean?

"The U.S. Gov’t barely got started minting
these new coins and by law were required to
stop production forever. There will never be
    any more."

Is this not a lie especially since the date in the pdf file mentions release of 2008 coins?

  • They have those ads here in Mesa, AZ all the time. This Monday is was for $5 gold coins. I didn't read the ad that much, but it was another rip!

I like (and by like, I mean dislike) how they give the weight of the coins as if they're precious metal. What a joke. How can they even state "FREE".

Well, as long as people trust advertisers and don't do their own research I can't blame them for trying to make a profit.

    That said, it's still sick.

The production of each president stops forever after three months worth of production.

All of their wording is very carefully chosen. By making a non-standard roll of 50 and calling it a "ballistic roll" they can then truthfully say in their ads that these rolls are not available anywhere else. Same with the 25-count rolls of nickels.
