Can someone walk me thru the steps to add cards to a showcase?? I can create a showcase that doesn't match a current set....

and add cards to my inventory....but to get them into my showcase...I can't seem to do. Right now I have showcases that were started with no cards in them...so they can't be published.

THere is no add card link.....

    any help would be appreciated.

Jeff - We'll see if we can add a "show all" link to the sets that are greater than 1 page in length.

Jason - Good idea. We'll see if we can add viewing options to your preferences.

jay0791 - I am assuming you have named your showcase. That being said, login and click "View" which appears in the right column next to your showcase. Once you are in your showcase, scroll down and you'll see all your available inventory. Click "Add Item" which appears in the far right column next to the card you want to be loaded into your showcase. Once you have added all the cards, select "edit" in the showcase name box, check off published, and then save your change.

    BJ,

    Couple of queries:

    1) Is the "Default Sort" link before each page of an open set tied to a preference that can be modified?
    2) Again, in an open set, it appears that the "Default Sort" sorts the set numbered lowest to highest. If you then select any highlighted column link, it again sorts on that column "blank or lower to higher". It would be preferable to sort the columns "higher to lower or blank" instead of the current "lower or blank to higher".
    3) Why is the previous page expired when I use the back button? I should not be forced to reload the web page everytime I move around.

    Thanks,
    Michael

Ok, I have a new suggestion. Move or do away with the "delete my entire inventory/delete all filtered items from my inventory" link.

Its placed JUST above the "delete checked items from my inventory" and there is no commit or rollback involved if you accidentally click "delete entire" rather than "delete checked".

One click, poof, inventory gone. I accidentally did this, fortunately it was a small group of filtered inventory that I had to re-add rather than all 500+ cards in my inventory.

  • It would be REALLY nice if there was a chart at the top of my sets that had a breakdown of the number of cards for each grade in the set.

If I had 400 cards in the set out of 660:

    PSA 10's: 50
    PSA 9's: 325
    PSA 8's: 10
    PSA 7's: 10
    PSA 6's: 5
    Psa 5's: 0
    and so on...

    AverageJoe,
I'm with you on that. I was hoping to see that on the V2. Maybe it can be done?

I think as new ideas float in PSA will be ale to do them. I had a little trouble at first....mostly do me signing up for another account.

I wish I could edit all...after a set has been established...so I can add prices..ect. without having to open each card up...

the system is totaly awesome...and the PSA customer staff has been extremely helpfull. I recently read a news article about the 10 worste customer service departments in large companies. PSA could serve as a positive role model for all of them.

I am getting 32 free grading vouchers for all my 7% completed sets...now how can you beat that!!!! Having 120 sets in my registry this registry allows me to keep a better track of what I have. Big thumbs up.

Jay0791 - 7% complete is a far cry from the 90% completion requirement for free gardings. How did you swing that one?

I think he meant 75% and it was a typo. If you requested the vouchers and had the set to that level before June 1, you beat the new 90% threshold for free vouchers.
I registered two team HOFer sets in order to do that.

sorry...my two fingers can go only so fast....

It is 75% and the deadline was 5/31........I have never asked for the vouchers before..........so it was agood time to do so before the requirement was 90%.

  • i dunno what people would think of this but i was thinking it would be cool if there was a way to have a "trade inventory" option where u can set up a inventory of cards u have for trade that would be public so u can link it into ur sig here or have it public so that people could browse peoples trade inventory and look for cards they may want/need and then send a msg to the owner - if it got popular maybe a future version could even have a basic "feedback" system for each user and then u can even see if the person if a good trader

dunno if this violates a rule somewhere or if people would even be into this idea or whatever - thoughts ??

What would be really cool is if Joe made an investment into VCP or purchased the database so we would not have to enter our pricing twice. Or better yet, they seem to have figured out a better way to determine current card value based on eBay & other sales, over the currect Sports Market Report value. Just seems to me that the missing link to "What we are collecting! Database" is "What is it worth, DATABASE"!

right but its not very convenient that way - how about having a trade inventory that can be linked directly into the pop report ?

suppose your looking for a specific card in a certain grade - u go to the pop report and click on the card/grade and it can pop a window of people that have that card in the specific grade listed in their inventory to trade ??

FWIW, this is from the Set Registry rule pages:

    Buying and Selling Policy

The PSA Set Registry is to be used to list collections of cards and tickets. By the sheer nature of the Registry, items listed are invariably bought and sold. However, using terminology such as "for sale or trade," "auction1107," or listing an item with a sale price is not permitted. In addition, posting commerce website addresses is also not permitted. The Set Registry is self-policing. Should you see an infraction of this policy, please report it to setregistry@collectors.com.

    ***

The Collectors Corner seems to be close to what you are looking for though. When you click on your sets it tells you when cards in that set are available for purchase in the Collectors Corner. Right now it looks like 707 is the only person with an inventory in the CC so far though.

PSA will go through every so often and delete/change any Showcase sets with Sale or Trade in the name.

I have 5 cards that have fallen into the V2 vortex and can be found in an "Items that do not match my sets." link through my registry. However, they do fit into my sets.....how do I move them?
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • Two suggestions for improvement/correction.

First, in the "My Inventory" section, V2 allows the user to filter the inventory. However, after filtering, if the printer friendly button is used, the printer friendly version does not list the filtered inventory, but all of the inventory. It would be helpful if the printer friendly version would match the filtered inventory rather than the total inventory.

Second, it would be helpful if the year/brand/name info was not lumped into one field but separated into multiple fields. When looking at inventory, the sort does not distinguish between different sports. So, for example, if you have a 1968 Topps baseball set, and a 1968 Topps football set, the cards from the sets are commingled when sorted. Of course, the sport filter can be used, but since the printer friendly version doesn't recognize the filter, there is no way to get a printer friendly printout that uses the filter. Also, if downloaded to a spreadsheet, the lack of multiple fields for year/brand/name makes sorting difficult without manually adding the fields. This, however, is time-consuming, and defeats the user-friendly goal of V2.

Overall, I am very pleased with V2 and think it is a big improvement.

John - We have a fix in for the print problem after sorting. Hopefully, that will be resolved in the near future.

Unfortunately, the new PSA database prevents us from separating the fields as you asked, however, we might be able to make the default sort by sport. Would that be helpful?

daywalker2029 - Regarding items for trade/sale, you can use the BST forum for that. You can always link to your set or showcase in the Registry.

MeteoriteGuy - you should report "Items that do not match my sets" to setregistry@collectors.com. Just send us your certnos. and we'll research.

    BJ,

is there a feasible way to add a picture of the actual card in the ceritfication database? This may help prevent some of these fraudulent holders with actual stolen certs. Just a weird idea that crossed my mind. The new system really helps with adding scans, ad if people were checking certs, and there was a picture to go with the actual card. it would help even further determine the card/holder is legit!
