Actually come to think of it the only post I edited was the first one to this thread (where he could actually make his wild accusation) it was within 2 minutes, was my first post and simply asked for a back scan.
So I will now call this ill informed puke a liar.
Unless of course he has PROOF that I was in fact hostile in that first thread.
For him to say that the reason he got angry was my comment that I had just decided to put the card for sale that evening when it had always been on my site, is simply an untrue statement.
No, if anything it was an ill informed statement, but then again since you have been proved to be a liar how will anyone know when you put it on your site?
Oh and I never said I got angry.
I said 'what I didn't like"
So it seems sir you too are guilty of spouting ill informed remarks.
If you can find another Nolan Ryan rookie card graded 4.5 VG-EX+ or higher (PSA, BVG, or SGC) that's listed at a selling price less than $239, by all means, please post it up with a link in this thread.
I checked out the web though GOOGLE and couldn't find one advertised for a lower price. But I certainly welcome you to search and find one if you can and post it here.
Just what I thought, OC reverse, glad I passed. And come to think of it It was not there when i first went to look. How that card got a .5 grade is beyond me. looks like a PSA 3 to me.
I love how this guy is happy because of all the hits he's getting from this thread. That would be like Roger Clemens being happy about getting all the recent publicity because he thinks his auto will be more in demand. I'd put the odds on BlueDevil getting a sale from these hits at around 60/1.
I am so glad that I stuck to my position, and did not listen to the poor advice received on this board which instructed me to lower my price for my Nolan Ryan rookie card below the $200 range.
Today, 38 days after I put this card up for sale, I received a full-price, confirmed PayPal payment of $239 for this card.
In addition, a Nolan Ryan rookie card graded BVG 1.5 sold on eBay today for $175 (plus $4 more for S&H). Perhaps someone saw that auction go off and decided that at $239, my BVG 4.5 was a real bargain. Here's the link on the eBay auction for the BVG 1.5 if anyone is interested:
I'll say it again, VCP and eBay auction average prices are not the final word on the value of your sports card collection. They only represent the approximate value of your cards if you are in a position in which you must sell immediately via a one-week auction format. I didn't even have to wait 40 days to get my price. There are buyers out there who are collectors, and they will come your way if only you are patient.
Pile on the tirade of abuse guys --- I'm buying tonight!
You're right, CD. I'm sure that none of the two dozen or so people (including yourself) who felt the burning desire to comment in this thread really care. I just wanted to point out to any other newbie members to this forum that they shouldn't let the mob mentality of the inner circle on this board beat them down every time they go to trade or sell a card.
What did you give me, like 60:1 odds that I'd sell the card? I guess I overcame bigger odds than Da' Tara did at Belmont today.
Thank you all for continuing to prove my point. That this board is unfortunately overrun with hate-filled, jealous individuals who's primary goal is to use pressure tactics to out-deal those who may have a weak psyche.
No one cares that dealers across the USA are charging 150-200% of book value everyday and are getting their prices. God forbid though, that an individual on this board should ever hold out for book value or something close to that. Then everyone gets offended and panics that you may lose your grip on this forum and no longer be able to rip people off.
What makes you people the authority on the pricing of vintage baseball cards? Most of you throwing out your comments probably have minor, unimpressive collections, and never even had the nerve to buy a card worth more than $200. Certainly, people with significant collections wouldn't need to be spewing such vile remarks revealing your obvious envy. Those who have built a major vintage collection certainly would not bemoan the fact that book value prices are attainable.
You guys really give me a good laugh. I would have expected a bit more intelligence in the comments though. Anyway, keep 'em coming.
Congrats you got the price you wanted. Now be a man and let it go. You think you are proving a point when in reality all the other posters have proven theirs. Time to move on.

I'm still waiting for all the proof you have.
Oh that's right the timeline doesn't fit.
You know what we say around here:
"if the timeline doesn't fit you must be full of s*&#.
so can we see the scan of the reverse or what?
what are you hiding?
Steve
It showed the reverse too.
Cards that have poor reverses and sellers that show blurry scans are usually trying to hide something.
