Do you know RUSS?

This thread was spawned as a result of reading several different threads in which the posters address each other by name and act as if they know each other well...particularly Russ.
I was just curios as to how many of you know each other and have hung out at some of these live shows and how many of you just know each other from the notoriety on the boards/Ebay?

I do not believe that it is a sign of disrespect in most cases.
I never met anyone from these boards, so far, but I don't mind if someone refers to me by my name or handle, or a nickname if that ever came up.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
<< <i>I know Russ .... not in the biblical sense, of course, but from meeting him at coin shows.. a most enervating experience I might add... Cheers, RickO >>

What coopie said:
Had a couple of forum run-ins with him years back where BOTH of us acted righteous and somewhat obtuse.
Bought a gorgeous commem from him off Ebay a while back. A real keeper. That alone makes him alright in my book!
seriously I bought a coin from him on ebay and would do so again in a heartbeat.
but I don't really know him (asides from a stellar reputation as a seller)

There are some coin dealers out there that think that it is a god given right to beat up on buyers in the marketplace. Russ ain't one of those people. As a matter of fact, I think he might be one of a few sellers to whom the Hippocratic oath may apply.......'first do no harm'.....
to himself ..............and others.
<< <i>Not another Russ thread! >>
Too funny..........
I spoke to Russ on the phone once.....

The one in the middle??
But then I realized I had bought a coin from him on ebay (not knowing who the seller was until much later) and it was very nice and well described and I was totaly happy with it.
So I can only add that he must be one of the good guys!
And I'm supposed to be Grumpy!

Just another Freudian slip of Castration anxiety or P envy..
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I have found power in the mysteries of thought.
It is always a question of knowing and seeing, and not that of believing.
Our virtues, and our failings are inseparable, like force, and matter. When they separate, man is no more.
