Kevin - just looked at the spreadsheet - there's a high number Martin, Kuroda and Rackie. Then there's the Baseball Icons - Rackie, Pee Wee and Campy. This is gonna be an expensive set for me this year. I'm down to just one card needed to finish up last year - the /25 Bazooka Jason Schmidt. One just closed last week for almost $60!! I couldn't believe it.

I need to figure out quickly how I'm gonna budget for A&G - Butler stuff has been popping up like crazy lately, plus Heritage black refractor Dodgers, plus some very low numbered Shawn Green stuff. Ugh! Topps is killing me with these retro sets! I haven't paid attention to vintage in ages, and that's what brought me back into the hobby 12 years ago.

That's a really nice Thomas card.
I have no idea either about my budget for A&G. I have a feeling that this stuff is going to fly off the shelves. By the time I have the money to get this stuff it's gonna be gone. My wife said that we should have budgeted this year for a case of the stuff. Oh well.

    Sweet hit on the Miles!

By the way, I'll be looking for the Crawford gu jersey, bat, and auto from this set. I can't believe he has all of the above in this year's product!

So far, the proportion of "pulls" seems to be slightly better this year than last year. Of course, who knows what subsequent shipments will bring.

I'm just hoping retail / blasters stay relatively random-ish... nice way to complete a base set. 'Course, I won't mind if they continue the "fat pack has a thick insert, skinny pack has an SP" pattern from last year's retail.

    Sweet man! Let me know.

There are a lot of guys in this years set that I'm a fan of. I just realized that Chipper has a game used card and Francoeur has an auto. Wonder what else I'll dig up....

(Yes, I did look at the checklist when it was first posted but didn't look again because I felt like being surprised. lol.)

Just got home from work - nice autos, Nick! Two rips beats the odds, too, yes?

I'll expect a SP report within the next few hours. Get on it, man - only 1:15 out there; you should have plenty of juice left!

Wow, D.O.A....even worse image...I try to forget the 80's happened on a daily basis. A buddy at work had three AH-HA LP's on his desk and asked me with a straight face if I wanted to rip them for my iTunes. I had to take a step back from laughing so loudly

Nick's committed to seeing this all the way through. Ripped, sorted, SPs reported, ending editorial. Alcohol has to be involved at some point. I think I was having a beer around 4 a.m. during my Heritage all-nighter.

This box break has me nine kinds of Randy Johnson in anticipation for when my box comes Thursday (according to UPS). Now I'm doing that whole "you know, I could get two, three more boxes on the credit card... it's not TOO high... so what if I'm out of work and looking... I'll get a job, right?! RIGHT?!"

Seriously, I got the "I need to rip some packs now" shakes.

Hahaha, Gil Meche. I'd have considered that God himself smacking me with his nads... although, perhaps not given the previous hits.

But still... Gil Meche... that's like ripping a rip card and inside is a wood mini or Dick Perez 1/1 of... Gil Meche.

On the bright side, it wasn't Richie Sexson.

Two rips and above percentages on the relics/autos... and you don't even know what you have in terms of SPs yet... you can't be unhappy about that break. Especially since there's always folks out there hungry for the non-baseball autos (which are usually lower population too).

Your rip has ramped up my excitement for getting packs and packs of 08 A&G from salivating to "Is this what meth addiction is like?"

    That rocked.

Excellent 1st Case break for the boards! Congrats on all the hits. That case crushed the odds.

Crap - talk about missing the boat on initial sales - $20 for a base Mantle card?!?!
    Prices are out of control.
kshorton says: i gots an Empire State Building card... seeking advice.. is this better and worth more than my psa 3 franco harris 1973 topps card which i defouled by trying to make a baby with ? Please advise. the franco card is graded.. the ESB card is not yet, and I do not want to have a baby with the ESB card.

Nick, nice case! I'm having to watch from the sidelines here in Southern Delaware. I only found 1 shop and they are about, hmm, 2 or 3 bucks higher per pack on stuff than elsewhere (and no Ginter).
