OT - new granddaughter with problems - update 4/3

My son and his wife had a baby girl tonight at 7:07 (eastern), and her name is Bailey. It was an extremely difficult birth, she was stuck and it took suction and a lot of pulling to get her out. Then she wasn't breathing and CPR was done for 2-3 minutes until we finally heard that first cry. After that they discovered a shoulder injury from the birth, but couldn't tell us how severe it is. We left the hospital without even seeing her, as she's in an incubator on oxygen, but breathing fine on her own - she is going to be okay.
Just a very long and stressful day for all of us, but the end result is a baby who will be healthy soon. I look forward to going to see her in the morning. If anyone reading this is a prayerful person, please pray for Baby Bailey and her mom, Kelly - they both have some healing to do.
If you'd like, feel free to post your favorite coin.

I have a feeling that Bailey will be just fine before you know it.

<< <i>congrats to you grandpa. hope all gets well soon. have fun spoiling little Bailey >>
Thank you all - my son just got home and emailed me a picture, and she's quite purple, but they've reduced the oxygen she's on.
By the way sanitarium1inmate - I'm a GrandMA, not Pa!!
And yeah Griv, I WISH I was too young! This is #3 for me after my daughter's 2 sons... they'll all keep me young at heart!
Best think he ever said.

My parents apperantly had a similar experience with me (I, of course, do not remember) ... but I know it was hard. I was incubated for two weeks before I got to go home. They say I turned out okay though.
Seriously, my prayers to you and yours.
Here's a coin from a century ago for a little luck, just in case

Your young ones are in my prayers.
God blessed newborns with a toughness that we could only dream about as we get older.
They also heal faster than weeds growing in the garden, Thank God.
Please keep us informed.
Bailey has been slowly getting better. Her mom and dad finally got to get to Pittsburgh today to see her and asked me to go along. Seeing her at first was a mix of emotions - if you could ignore the tubes and ventilator and just see her, she looked 100% better than 2 nights ago when she was born. I saw her have a couple seizures while the nurse was there but they didn't seem bad to me. She hasn't stopped breathing through one since yesterday, now it's mostly her legs. They did an EEG while we were there, then we spoke with a neurologist. A seizure lasts 10 seconds or longer, and Bailey's are now about 4 seconds long, so they're not calling them that anymore. There are 2 small spots in her brain they feel will heal, and those are responsible for the "spells". All news was encouraging, and it's possible she'll get disconnected from at least one tube tomorrow, and maybe be home next week instead of the 2 weeks we were first told.
I thank you all for the prayers - they are being answered and we feel them.
