I hated to do it - but FELT I had to - situation resolved!

When a person has been a registered member on ebay for more than 2 years, having bid on over 70 different items yet
manages to win just ONE and then looks to bid with me - SORRY - this person has NO SHOT!
I don't know about the rest of you but I cancel all such bidder's bids and put him on my Blocked List.
What about you?
Just curious. Seems to be a LOT of this lately!

I've been getting a lot of strange / demanding / rude questions lately. Maybe they think the new feedback terms are already in effect. Maybe feebay anticipated this and that's the reason they're raising the blocked list limit to 5k.

What, exactly, has this potential bidder done, or not done, to cause you to blacklist them?

Boom, like nearly everyone else I'd like to know why you "hated to do it - but had to"...
I think I'll go kick a dog or two.
Advanced search: Items by bidder will tell you what a person has bid on and whether they have won or not, comes in handy when you suspect shills

Maybe you can- maybe not. I checked my buying id there to see what it showed, and it says I haven't bought or bid on anything in the last 120 days, which would probably come as a surprise to the sellers who have recently mailed me stuff.

I agree. I block anybody who wears penny loafers. There is no way they can pay for my coins if they have to keep a dime in their shoes for emergencies!
Edited for spelling.

Used to be, everyone could see one anothers' business simply by clicking on the # of "bids". Not anymore.
Of the 4 and a half years I've sold on ebay, it is only as of late that all the weird stuff has begun, in earnest.
For the most part, as a seller, I have very few issues and most transactions go extremely well. Lately, with Change on the proverbial "Horizon", it seems many buyers have taken on alts.
If you sell, click on bids, drag across the word "Details" - to the right. Lo & Behold eBay will present you (the seller) with any given buyer's bid history .... and it IS quite detailed. If you've sold lately simply click on the # of bids and drag across the word "details". You need not do anything special or go out your way, at all.
As ebaytrader alluded to, now with the proposed changes with eBay disallowing feedback by sellers, it seems to have brought on a lot of strange individuals. It took filing a NPB dispute to finally get one winning bidder to pay for a $20 item AFTER 3 WEEKS!

This site does't seem very accurate. Shows that I had two winning bids out of four bids last month, those auctions it shows I won three of not two. In addtion I have a total of 11 won auctions last month.
This site is questionable.
I'll make sure & _NEVER bid on any of your coins !!!
consider yourself on my "Blocked Sellers List" now.
You bid, you pay, we're cool.
You don't pay, a 'no pay' item thing is filed and the item is relisted.
It's to much work micro managing Ebay.
More to the point: how do you know that GOOFBAY's results are even accurate on that stat? I ran my own name and came up with casting winning bids 100% of the time in the last 30 days, when I know that's not true. There were at least 5 auctions I bid on and lost during that time frame.
Have a beer, buddy, and chill out.

I'm impressed, Mr. BBQ Graham.

Low percentile?? ONE win - NO feedback left - 2 YEARS as an active bidder - I'll pass.
The reason for blocking is once the bidder's bids are cancelled I don't want him or her coming back.
If I end up knowing this individual then I owe him or her an apology, now don't I?
I'm NOT into Bay-sitting.
If you don't want people to cast low bids on your auction, then you ought to consider making your opening bid higher. My feeling is that as long as somebody bids above a minimum bid (and as long as the bidder is willing to pay whatever amount they've bid), ALL bids are good bids.
In fact, let me take this one step further: I am an eBay seller and my main concern is that the high bidder actually pays for his item. Since this guy never wins any auctions, it is clear that he's not the kind of guy who bids things up and DOESN'T pay for them (he probably bids only what he's willing to pay, which is a GOOD thing)! In other words, the odds are that this bidder is EXACTLY the kind of bidder you WOULD want bidding on your item, no?

It's quite simple, actually.
If it doesn't feel right or sit well - DON'T!
If the guy was legit he sure would have won more than ONE item within the last 2 years, don't you think!?
I'd rather a legitimate, solid buyer than some highly suspicious individual that has such a History.

And by blocking people for having the unmitigated gall to have a history of underbidding, you may have just let that "legitimate, solid buyer" pluck your coin away from you for less money.
Frankly, I don't see what makes the scenario you paint as very fishy, well...very fishy.
I bid on a lot of auctions but only go as high as I can reasonably afford. Of course, I am not able to play in the high dollar range and if that is your area of selling made it is totally different.
Still if..a big IF .. I was a seller I wouls welcome bids from people that did not have bad feed back and no history of not paying.

This is not a good reason for ME to block someone. To each his owe, but please tell us your logic.
Gee ... ya think?
Maybe this bidder should have asked the seller a question!

What was this bidder supposed to say: "Are you one of those sellers who will refuse to honor my bid because I don't win enough auctions for your taste?"

Thanks!

I think most of us would agree with you there. And nobody would deny your right to ban the guy for whatever reason that you want. Speaking just for myself, it was the "I HAD to" part that confused me.
<< <i>If the guy was legit he sure would have won more than ONE item within the last 2 years, don't you think!? >>
Gonna respectfully disagree with you there, Boom. Some people simply comb ebay looking for good deals -- and most of the time they are outbid. I don't see anything wrong with that.
<< <i>I'd rather a legitimate, solid buyer than some highly suspicious individual that has such a History. >>
Agree that legitimate bidders are good things. I just haven't seen any evidence at all that this guy wouldn't have paid if he had won. That said, I think the suggestion made elsewhere was a good one. If his history bothered you, it was probably worth your throwing him an email and asking him to explain it.

Again. The question: What's it like to be so insecure?
