Very sorry to hear this news. My prayers are with you and your family in your time of grief. My dad passed about eight years ago and I still think about him. Glad you had some special time and shared your joy for coin collecting together. Your coins will be that much more special now. Take Care!!
My folks also got me interested in collecting. One of my fondest memories of time my dad and I spent together was an occasion when we spent an evening (actually until about 3AM) sharing coins in both of our collections, pouring over Krause catalogs and just having a great time. Another would have been when I was a youngster and he and I would spend hours fishing from a little canoe.
I'm very very sorry to hear about your family's loss. I'm happy to hear that your pop enjoyed such a large family, long life and at least one devoted son. From your desciption it sounds like your dad had his wits about him until the end. I'm happy for that. It must have been a blessing for your family.
I offer my sincerest condolences and wamest wishes to you and your family. It sounds like your pop was a great man!

Thank you all for all of your warm wishes. It is strange how sympathy from strangers means alot. For those who have recently or ever or will lose a family member my heart sinks down with yours. I pass my sympathies along to all of those folks also.
Dad did have all of his faculties to the end, and was never a burden on his family, so I am glad about that. It will be a long weekend but we will be celebrating his life, and rejoycing in all that he was and will continue to be in our hearts and our minds.
My sincere condolences. It's very tough to come completely to terms with losing a father. Always seems to be a lot of important unfinished business. But the good times and are long remembered and cherished. All the best to you and yours.
My heart goes out to you friend. I lost my dad 12 years ago and still miss him. Take comfort in the fact that he still lives on in you. I'll say a prayer for his soul.
My condolences as well, and my prayers go out to you and your family. While I know you'll miss him, how wonderful it is to have memories in a hobby you both shared. God bless you...perhaps you'll have an angel watching over your shoulder as you search for your next gem...

So sorry about the loss of your Dad. I send you my most heartfelt Sympathies. I am glad you were able to share an interest in coins with him. I know you will miss him.
My Dad died in June of 2007 and my only brother just 3 weeks ago. Both loved coins too. I will miss them terribly.

I can feel your pain and it hard to let the loved one go.
