How about "Under $20 and still raw" pick up thread?

We always see some super nice coins.
How about a thread for us on a budget or those that see something they just like and it was under $20 and is still raw?
Here are 2 quick pics from last weekend's attempt to find a few Roosies for my son's set. Both were under $20 and I was fine with the price I paid. They go into the raw set as dupes since they aren't FB nor high grade, but we both like them.

Don't feel that way! Your pic and your coin are awesome! I like it and would have paid $18 for it in a heartbeat as well

I would very much like an exemption for TomB !!!....
I'm quite sure we'd all be pleased to watch...
Just picked this up for $18. Its for my Ships Collection. Not bad for an oz of silver and a ship I need.
Hoard the keys.

This dime was part of a proof set that cost me "bid" (I think it was about $22 or a few dollars more).
So, taking out the other coins, and attributing a couple of bucks to them (the half and quarter, being silver, would make the dime under $20
(the lighting makes the background, which is the same in both photos, look different...I just didn't do any photo "playing")

<< <i>And here's one that is one of the lowest graded coins in our type album, but I bought it for $3 about 4 years ago and still like the look....
That is a beautiful Washington.
I think it would look great in my 7070

Ugly-ish, but hey... ancient silver for 15 bucks? I'm buyin'!
Constantine the Great (307-337 AD), AE3 with campgate reverse and nice desert patina.
Another upgrade candidate for my set- I want a better coin from this common ruler, but I do like the patina on this one, which I think cost me something like nine or ten bucks.
Constantine II (337-340 AD): AE3 with awesome desert patina and crisp details. Probably from a Syrian hoard.
I'm not seeking an upgrade for this one- I'm perfectly happy with it. It cost me twenty-ish.
Constans I (337-350 AD): AE4 with desert patina. (Seein' a pattern here, yet? Can you guess my favorite look in ancient bronze?)
These are just a few... I have lots more that were twenty bucks or less, and some of them with nice patina, too. And they're all raw. Slabs haven't caught on in ancient coins much, probably because most folks who have 1,500-2,000 year old coins like to "touch the history". And there's nothing wrong with that, within reason. A well-patinated ancient coin has pretty stable surfaces and a good protective "skin".
BTW, if you are interested in some attractive yet inexpensive late Roman bronzes like this, shoot a PM to John Knudsen, aka johnsim03. He's the man. Three of the four coins above came from him. (The Constantine the Great also came from a forum member- Bill Kalinoski, aka Blackhawk).
David Connors on VCoins seems to also have a lot of nice affordable late Roman bronzes, and has a 16% off sale running right now. I might have to check that out. I ordered a coin from him on March 2, but haven't seen it yet. That was my first transaction with him and is as yet incomplete, but I do keep an eye on his inventory quite often. I'm getting far enough along with the Romans that it's getting more expensive, now that I need scarcer rulers for the most part.
No one else has anything that was under $20, is still raw, and worth looking at? Maybe the coin ventures have really gone upwards in the $$$ range?

I suspect this thread will reach into the hundreds. I've found a home.
Under five dollars each. Still Raw.

TomB- I love that one. I already have a sweet, high grade, and rather scarce portrait 8R on the Holey Coin Vest, or I'd be trying to wrest that one from your grasp!
I know it's not a rare one, but this one caught my eye on the bay and got it for $18....haven't gotten it in hand yet, but looked
nice for the price....

$4.99 and still raw.
I hope to add some in a few weeks when the PNNA show "comes to town"
I may crack a recent buy out of a slab and show it....after shipping, it comes to under $20 and I like what I see from the pic so far and am waiting to see it inhand.
