BONGO SAY NEARLY EVERYTHING DEPRECIATES OVER TIME.BONGO WOULD NOT PAY $500 FOR A SILVER BELL THIS XMAS AND EXPECT IT TO BE WORTH $550 NEXT YEAR. BUT BONGO KNOW A SILVER BELL IS NOT OLD COIN.
OR IS IT.
BONGO MAYBE NOT SURPRISED THAT OLD COIN IS LIKE ANY OTHER LIMITED NON ESSENTIAL COMMODITY AND SUBJECT TO THE WHIMS OF TASTE AND MARKET.
PUT THE COIN IN BOOK AND ENJOY IT.
IF IT IS WORTH MORE WHEN YOU COME TO SELL IT, WELL DONE
IF NOT, THEN YOU HAVE HAD ENJOYMENT OUT OF IT.
REMEMBER THAT OLD COIN IS ONLY WORTH FEW DOLLARS IN PHYSICAL MATERIAL VALUE - THIS IS WHY VALUE IS AN ESOTERIC CONCEPT IN MANY WAYS AND IT MAY BE VULGAR TO ASSIGN ANY MONETARY VALUE TO OLD COIN

The run up in gold prices have moved the value to a bullion basis for many of these coins. As said before, collect what you like, coins should be a hobby, not an investment vehicle. The time to make a kiling in this area has passed for the moment.

When the series was selling out the proof was a better buy but now the UNC will be a much lower mintage. I'd buy the UNC if I had to select one and if they start melting these they will both go into the pot. JMO
The keys are going to be uncs. However, we won't see miniscule mintages until we get much further into the series. If gold continues skyrocketing, a lot of collectors are going to bag the series.
The series is a loser... some will collect them, but they will have no real value (beyond PM) in our lifetime - or our children's lifetime. Cheers, RickO

for the flipper, the Proof at this time is selling for more & I don't believe it will change anytime soon.
