Self-employed Landscaper for the past 15 years. Just retired six months ago from that and now am employed by the town I live in as a Driver/Operator for Public Works to finish out my time.......

I'm here to question, not to inspire or build up. To live how I want, as I see fit, according to my values and my needs. Nothing holds dominion over me, I stand alone as the ruler of my life.
I started up a business in 1997 and sold it in 2005 and I have the money invested and I live off the interest. It is not much but enough I don't need a job.

I know exactly how you feel Mike. I had to be a "fill in" ump once. I was there to watch my brother's little leauge team play my best friend's team and the ump never showed. The coaches both asked if I could do it, I couldn't say no.
I thought I did a good job but all the stupid parents were yelling at me. I was in a no win situation. If I made a call against my friends team, the coach and the parents would start yelling "his brother plays for the other team...of course".
That was too much to put on a 15 year old.......I never did it again

Yeah, it gets brutal sometimes. For a game last year, I was in the basepaths and my friend was behind the plate. The game came down to a play at the plate and my friend called the kid out and the game was over. We both heard about that game the rest of the season.
Besides the parents, the worst part is definitely the heat. Mask, chest protector, shinguards, and a squatting position for most of the game in 90 degree weather is horrible. Couple that with parents and it gets annoying sometimes.
I'd still rather do this than work in fast food though!!!!
