So if the coin is a troy pound, then it weighs 12 TROY ounces (which converts to about 13 regular ounces).

don't convert avoirdupois to troy, it's meaningless because PM is not weighed that way. but you should clarify w/ eBay resellers who sell by the "pound" or a fraction thereof, if you feel you need to to make a buying decision
Back in 1988 or 1989 (if my memory serves me correctly), the US Mint made a 6oz ($199.50) and 12oz ($325) silver proof (I believe) Commemorative for America In Space. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they also had mintmarks.
