As this year comes to a screeching halt, what was the last coin you acquired for your collection? Here's mine.

Mine was what would have been a bargain buy from eBay: A coin that was advertised as a B.U. 1881-O Morgan VAM 5. Alas, what arrived in today's mail was a B.U. VAM 33A.
For the 7070.

Thanks! Thats my second old gold purchase this month. I never really know if I am paying too much I just look at past results and bid a decent amount under PCGS guide but still aggressive enough to win it if I really like it. Paid $260 + juice which comes to $291.20 I believe on the 2.5 dollar above guide is $450 so I think I did ok.

Edited: I almost had a mega-whopper of a purchase earlier this week, but I got cold feet. No doubt, I will regret this in the future.

I suppose that will be my last purchase of the year.
1889-S VAM-2 NGC 63PL, a VAM I didn't have in prooflike for the date
1896-O VAM-19 NGC 63 -- should easily cross to PCGS, perhaps the finest known
1902-O VAM-31A PCGS 63, nicest one I have found so far
Quick! Someone sell me something interesting. Still have a little over 3 hours here (PST).

I'm trying to build a nice year set, for a friend of my mothers. AU plus condition. Not an easy set, if you can't spend 100s of dollars on it. Might take me a while to find coins I want within my price range.

Hard to beat the price!

This series can be addicting. With a mintage of 55,900 the price in AU is still reasonable.

I'm thinking that '08 is going to be a much better year for buying if some coins of mine do okay in the FUN sale with Heritage.
