To cheap???? Its an open market, multiple bids tells you that was all the market was willing to pay at that time. The mint screwed the flippers on this one. Way too many minted for the true demand. Same thing has been happening to the First Hags.
If you sent it in for grading and you sell it on ebay with paypal, you must get around $2300 just to break even.

Or perhaps a BIN with a best offer. I know I am a small potatoes wannabe, but I can't see placing items like this on ebay for a straight auction in the current economic environment. You are practically asking to get your lunch handed to you. (Although some persons have done just fine on this very item in a straight auction. Fine being recouping the purchase price, grading fees. You are still losing if it is paid by paypal credit card.) JMHO.

This should be a warning to eBay sellers. The above auction title did not have the year 2007 in it, as such it did not come up in my 2007 10th Anniversary Searches. I'm sure, I'm not alone. The seller has only himself to blame... some one got a great deal

Actually I've been using "Platinum 10th." A realization of 8% over melt might look attractive after a month or two.
I just sold my single 69DCAM/70 set to the local dealer for $2275, and was glad to get it. About half a dozen dealers at the Wilmington DE coin show, from several mid-Atlantic states, had exactly zero interest in any platinum -- 10th anny, 2006-W unc, whatever -- for anything more than 5 or 6% less than melt.
About half a dozen dealers at the Wilmington DE coin show, from several mid-Atlantic states, had exactly zero interest in any platinum -- 10th anny, 2006-W unc, whatever -- for anything more than 5 or 6% less than melt
not surprising-- platinum costs a lot, and is a specialty area; many dealers lack sufficient knowledge and/or liquidity.
If you decide to sell any 2006 ws for melt, let me know first!
Just for the record, I'm reporting my grades as well. One PR70DC, so I'm happy to have at least one. These will fit in my collection nicely.

It seems like it was the latter. Some of the comments were that they already had several sets, or that high melt prices were bringing everybody out of the woodwork selling their stuff; in any case demand was too low.
There was one instance where I finally found a dealer willing to look at a 2006 proof at melt levels -- "now you're speaking my language!" -- and a dealer at the next table piped up, "That's way too high. I dumped all my changing reverses at 10% under melt." After that incredible display of bad etiquette from someone who should know better, my possible buyer instantly put his guide book down and passed.
I do wholeheartedly agree that asking melt for an 06-W unc is too pessimistic.
More grades back today... Guess I got lucky that makes 5 out of 6 to be PR70's out of my two submissions

I was considering that stuff, how much am I off?
<< <i>Just checked my order...both 70/70!!! Should I keep them or sell??? >>
Depends on what you want.
If you want the set in 70 grade then of course keep it.
If you want future appreciation then that is a tough call.
70 First strike label will help.
You could sell that set for around $3.000 and buy a 69 set for around $2000
Or just sell it and be happy with the profit.
I received a PF70 and a RP69. I only wanted the Reverse proof so I sold the PF70.
