My Santa was 5 for 5 in sending cards I didn't have for my 78 BB set, all PSA-9's! It will get me very close to 50% complete. How he knew what cards I needed, I don't know because I don't recall telling Matt which set on the registry is mine. Thanks you jolly old fat guy in the big red suit!!
  • My Santa did an awesome job! Tons of cards of Blazers, Chiefs & Yankees, all from the 70's, 80's & 90's

And to top it all off I was also sent an auto'd 8x10 of Mattingly!

    Thanks for the great gift!

I'm keeping this thread up till evryone receives. Any of the 5 guys left receive their gift today?
  • Nope......image

  • << <i>Doug-
I am glad you like your gifts. I wasn't totally sure about the Albert and Conerly...but I figured you wouldn't have the Fortmann matchbook.

Thanks "Perkie" Claus. Paul gave me some Mistlle "Toe" for Christmas. Lou "The Toe" that is. >>

Thanks a lot for the gifts! Is the Fortmann matchbook a 1933 Diamond?

    Doug

  • << <i>Both of these will be added to my HOF set shortly.

BTW, took a picture with my camera phone, wow does that suck.

    THANKS SANTA >>

You're welcome Troy! I hope you like them.

I really like the matchbooks..a great piece of vintage football nostalgia..and still affordable. Most commons usually sell for 15-25, with less collected HOFer's 25-50, and more collected 50-150. I have a Baugh as well. Many of the early HOFer's don't have cards, but they have matchbooks. I believe the Fortmann is a 1936 Diamond.
  • any other scans?

There must be some more out there. The items that I sent are still not seen here, but I know that the receiver has them. Nothing big, just a buch of PSA 10s, many 1 of 1.

got my secret Santa gift yesterday--an unopened 2006 Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects box!. Wrapped in Christmas paper and included a very nice note.

Never participated in this type of thing before, and it showed(hope I did not disappoint my partner). Wish I had put more thought into this...and yes I will next year.

Excellent idea...I look forward, God willing--to next year.

Thanks Matt--I sent you a PM--

Thanks Matt, the best part of it was the involvement of CDsNuts, Lee. He had one of the cards for sale, and after I paid for it and mentioned that it was for the Secret Santa exchange he returned my $$, as he said, "it is for a good cause". For his generosity I sent him a "gift" also, a 1981 Topps, Larry Bird, PSA 9. All this from a person that wasn't even involved in the exchange. This is what it is about!!

Exactly. This is the reason I like this board so much. I hope my recipient likes the cards I sent him.
  • Sorry guys...been sick the last couple of days. Exhaustion after all the driving and crap. Here's what my Santa sent. I gotta be honest...these are some awesome cards! I opened them infront of my family and they were like, you collect cards?! I was like, "FOR THE LOVE OF PETE....SINCE I WAS LIKE 7!" So, I guess that's all I'm getting next year. Anywho...here they are! Thanks Santa, you did an outstanding job!!!!

  • Got my gift and must say I love the cards I got. Two Koufax cards among others. And baseketball HOF's Jerry West and Elgin Baylor (who I see crying each time we use our Clipper season tickets). Thanks Secret Santa. This was well worth the wait!!

Damn! That was worth the wait!
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?
