Should I be worried?

I bought a coin form Teletrade on November 27. According to thier web site it was set out the next day on November 28. It is now December 10 and I still have not seen the coin. I have never had to wait this long for a registered mail item. I once had to wait 10 days from PCGS, but never this long. Should I be worried yet?

I'd call, but keep in mind it's the busiest time of the year for the postal service. Delays are common.

  • Well, I called Teletrade. They sent my coin to the wrong person. He said they should be able to get it back after contacting the other customer. He was very polite and told me they will be sending me a $50 coupon to be used on any auction for thier mistake. I hope they find my coin.

I hope you have better luck than I did. I got a coin from ANR via internet bid four years ago & they mistakenly sold it to a floor bidder @ the same price. When I explained to them that they made a mistake, they agreed with me, but the other guy refused to release the coin.
ANR gave me a free book for their mistake.

Roadrunner and I just had one where I sent him a package, one coast to the other, that took 15 days.
Not unusual from what I hear.

The variance is amazing... I have had a package take two days.. .and one took 14 days... coast to coast... same size. I have no clue what causes the difference. Although, at this time of year.. expect the longer period. Cheers, RickO

My package sat in NY City for several days. I've had that happen before - anywhere from 4 to 5 days just waiting to be sent back out.
Something funny happening in NY City.

You just might want to consider letting the other guy have the Teletrade coin. Many times I've wished that once a TT coin showed up in person. It sure beats the hefty return fee and postage to return it.

Don't worry. The coin won't tone that fast.

You paid for the coin and TT sent it to someone else? That was a very generous action on your part. I am sure you appreciate TT helping you to spread the spirit of the season! image

I had the same thing happen 2 years ago with Teletade. The package was delivered to the wrong person, even though it had my address on it. I don't understand how that can occur, but TT tracked it down, had it returned to them, and sent it out to me again. They handled the situation well, and I was pleased with their service.

The EXACT same thing happened to me three years ago at ANR on a $1,000+ coin, but I didn't even get a book.

  • Just an update...

Teletrade sent my coin to the wrong person. They attempted to contact the other person but were unable to make contact. Someone out there got a free ANACS graded problem free Bust Quarter worth about $200. I had to fill out a lost item form with Teletrade and was told I will be refunded the auction price plus shipping costs. I am impressed with how Teletrade handled the problem, but am not impressed that they allowed this to happen. Could you imagine if this would have been a high dollar item? I just thought I would inform everyone as to how Teletrade handles these mistakes.
  • Just want you to know it wasn't me who got that coin. image

I'm sure TT knows who got it and will be all over them like white on rice.

That stinks, though I'm glad to hear Teletrade is making you whole. Meanwhile, watch eBay for the coin, either in the ANACS holder or raw, I'd not be the least surprised if the "lucky" recipient flipped it quickly.
