Coin Collectors - What would be a nice gift from your local dealer?

A little spinoff from another thread.

I was thinking of giving out gifts to all my regulars, but I don't have any idea on what to give. (coin related or not)

So, what reasonable gift would you really like to get???

morris

ps, I have about 60 or so regulars (once every two week kinda guys and gals) so something reasonably priced would be best

Seriously, maybe a nice silver eagle in an airtight, or a circulated morgan dollar or something like that.

  • Maybe a subscription to one of the coin magazines, or an inexpensive loupe or magnifying glass- you could have your company's name engraved on it. I'd like either one of those-

  • Around me, I would just like to have the dealers be more reasonable and honest. But I'm sure that's just around here.

Get as personal as you can...maybe a book on their specialty.

Or...good pictures are important to many collectors because most keep their collections in safe deposit boxes. Offer a coupon good for free images of X number of coins in their collection.

Really though, I think a nice personalized card would be much appreciated.

Or just $1 face in better than melt silver. You might even make some bags for YN kids with a bunch of wheats and some silver.

  • I like the idea of a loupe - the kind with two lenses that slide out of a casing, your logo or info on that casing... Or a holiday card with a $25 off any $100 or higher purchase gift cert in it; if they're regs they'll spend it eventually anyhow. How's this for market research: For the first time since July I'm paying attention to Teletrade... Free shipping in December. I hate to feel like a consumer, but it works and I'm typically thankful someone I'm spending money with is eating some of the cost (as opposed to me eating it all). And yes, this egg nog is GOOOOD!

From MY local dealer? How 'bout 2% cash back, like Discover?

    Mostly I get calendars.

That oz of silver per would get pretty expensive.

A card with a dollars off coupon would be best IMO.

My local guy passes away earlier this year and there's not another close that has reasonable prices.

I just like to say merry christmas to him. That would be great!!!

A nice card with a neat coin picture on it - you can put them together yourself on websites like Shutterfly and they will send them to you.

I'd like my dealer to price all his coins. That is, if I had a dealer. I don't go to the local guy because he
never priced anything. No fun to brouse and shop when you have to ask, how much, how much, etc.

Give them a Silver Eagle with a $25 off next purchase sticker on it. It must be redeemed with the coin. That way thay can keep it or get what they want.

I like the loupe idea... they can be purchased in quantity for a very reasonable price... and they are useful. Cheers, RickO

A guy selling off my non-copper has sent me a jar of those big cashews for Christmas - they are really good.
One of the copper dealers gave me a bottle of Blue Ribbon - not eatable but quite satisfying.
  • Having a coin shop near me would be a great start!!!!
