Has everyone posted their respective numbers and results of their swaps (or in some cases, "Non"-swaps)?

I am en route to a commitment and will check back in later to post a few items of interest.

Meanwhile, all interested parties please sign up for The Super Bowl Swap.

    Thank you. image

I have a picture of something that may be of particular interest to a few people here/ if you know what I mean! image

Let's just say we held our monthly K of C meeting last night. A certain promise was made at the beginning of this thread.

A presentation was made on behalf of all here but moreso some than others. Rather than post it, if you took part and would like to see it or need some sort of copy for whatever reason, I'll email a picture of it to you or send you a receipt.

Thank you. You know who you are. image

Sorry I have not spoke up for a bit, what I recieved from Texast was....... Well a HUGE surprise, I had no clue what I was going to be in for and when I recieved it I was like what the heck is in here, lol... it was heavy. Well I opened it up and was complety blown away, lots of very rainbow toned Lincolns from the 50's - 80's, some v nickels, mercs, a large cent, lots of wheats pennies from 1909-1950's and lots of Whitman books to put my coins in. Like I said it was way to much stuff. I want to say THANKS Texast...image

Jim, by rights and the "rules", this is a SWAP, not a One Way Street. If you do not HAVE what your partner needs or collects, you should :

    a) make it a point to locate something of interest to him either by placing a Want to Buy thread on the BS&T Forum, shopping eBay or stores or buy from fellow collectors that HAVE what interests Tim. It's not right nor is it fair for you to enter a Swap only to accept what Tim has sent and in no way compensate him!

    b) Rather than accept his items as Free Gifts, you really should send everything BACK to him, especially if you lack the funds to make this a fair SWAP. (Keyword - SWAP - To trade items of equal value.)

It is not right, Fair or ethical for you to accept Gifts under the premise of a Coin Swap. If you know, after initial communication, that you are limited in what you have that interests him AND lack the means to purchase items that fit what he collects, the swap should have been dropped to a very minimal Value and declared a "surprise swap" for the set amount agreed upon or you both should have mutually agreed NOT to swap.

This is no sleight against you but if memory serves me right, I believe this was your second swap. As such, I think I was your First swapmate and purposely/ knowingly went out of my way to make your first experience one to remember however, once you and Tim discovered that this could not be a mutually acceptable swap, it should have gone forward with adjusted terms (if possible) or declared an impossibility with BOTH of you coming to this thread and posting to this effect.

What always works best is putting oneself in the other person's shoes. Tim is a "Giver" like many of us here are but IN NO WAY is it right or fair that he come away empty-handed. If you cannot find and purchase items of equal Value and send them to your partner, it would be the right thing to do to send that heavy bof FULL of coins BACK to him ASAP.

I'd appreciate an Update and to find that you have purchased something for him or that you are sending his items back. One way or the other, you really NEED to do the right thing here, OK! image

He may say, "It's OK ... keep the items" but the Truth/ the Bottom Line IS - it's NOT OK!

    Thank you!

    First,
I appreciate what Boom has done in getting these swaps setup, I think he is a great guy just from the postings he has done and the PM's I have received from him.

    Second,
When I was matched with Bigtime36 I had no information about him at all, when we first communicated and I mentioned my area's of interest he replied that he did not have much but would try to find something for me. At that point I did a little research on Bigtime36 to see if there were things he may have commented on for his area of interest. I had found various items that he was looking for in the BST, it happened I had an over abundance of items that he was interested in, many of which I would not have ever listed in my auctions due to the low value and time it would take to go through it all. I also found that Bigtime36 is a new father of twins. As a father of three children (all grown now) I can understand how money is tight expecially around Christmas, I told Bigtime36 that I would rather he not send anything and that he spend them money on his family. When my children were young my entire collection had to be sold piece by piece to cover the bills. I could see the same thing happening with him. I made this a Christmas Gift!

    Third,
I want Bigtime36 to keep all the items I sent and accept them as a gift. My disappiontment was that he did not acknowledge the gift at the time. That is my fault for posting that on the board, a gift should not have to be acknowledged.

    Fourth,
I appreciate the PM's I have received from those that would be willing to trade, but as I stated in the Superbowl Swap I am going to pass.

I never intended for this to go this far, and I apologize to Bigtime36 for any hard feeling this may have caused towards him.

It's time for a break from the boards, it seems the entire PCGS Forum has taken a very negative tone the past few months and that's not really something I want to be a part of anymore.

    Thanks to all.

    Tim
