Come to think of it, that's exactly right from what I can see. They just cut out a portion of a standard ring and soldered it on the back. Didn't even bother to take out the old wings.

LOL. I was thinking a napkin ring, but now I see it.
A very horrible looking trinket to be sure. Long John Silver wouldn't even wear that on his peg leg.

<< <i>But it's Navajo handcrafted... >>
Considering the many many fine pieces of jewelry that the Navajo have produced, I have to wonder if this piece was a requested item. Like a special order.

Hoard the keys.
<< <i>Wow! that is gross. The back of the coin/ring looks like they used bondo car body filler to hold the piece of junk together. I noticed on the big fat hand model, the finger nail appears to be falling off, nice touch. Maybe she should have used some bondo on the nail as well.
A little soap and water would do wonders as well...

That's one helluva piece of bling!
Actually, it wouldn't be awful as a hatband or belt buckle piece, but it is hard to imagine wearing on a finger!
<< <i>I love it
Mcheath, you should go for it! It could become your schtick; your claim to fame! I have the Holey Coin Vest, MadMarty has his rubber chicken, and a few other people have ways of sticking out like a sore thumb on the bourse floor at shows!

Dang, what a letdown. That actually makes perfect sense, and wouldn't look so unusual. (In places like Texas or New Mexico, anyway.)
