Looking to Snap Up Some Silver This Weekend: Questions
I'm heading to the Ohio coin show tomorrow, and I am consindering buying a few ounces of silver given today's precious metals boom. First, is this the right time to buy? Second, what price should I expect assuming I buy silver in the form of common SAEs.

<< <i>Silver is at it's high point right now... should have bought a year ago.... that being said.. no one knows where it will peak.. so, do what feels right... buying as it is going up obviously reduces profit margin. Cheers, RickO >>
I only wonder if this is the beginning of the incline.

ASE's...with silver spot at around $14.50...expect to pay about..$15.75 - $16.00....
with that said.... if your looking for silver just buy 10 oz silver bars which you should find around $160 each
good luck
If Silver goes back down to $11 bucks, I am the village idiot!!!!
Good luck

Around here, at most of the dealers that set up, expect to pay ~$18-$20 per SAE (hey, they have to make a living too, right?
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
I'd agree that if it were me, I'd just buy a 10 ounce name brand bar for around $160. You could probably do a bit better at a show, although we are only talking a buck or two on a 10 ouncer.

I believe that if silver continues its rise, the numismatic premium will grow even
more quickly. After all, buying silver coins remains the most common way of investing
in silver.

<< <i>Just curious, but why are all the recommendations for SAE's or bars? Is there a reason you're choosing that over 90% junk silver, other than the purity? >>
Just FYI, not that I buy into it-- some believe that as silver gets more costly the gov't will eventually stop minting the Eagles, adding a numismatic premium to the bullion.

Because, a lot of the 90% junk silver is worn. When time to sell, the going price of 'times' face value
may not hold true. The silver coinage may get weighed and you'll get docked. The only 90% silver
I'm buying is 64/64-D halves.

When you hear or see people say....pm's are for long term, then what you just said
happens a lot.

Weigh it in person. Works for me.
