    from the looks of that pic, doesn't look like they "evaluated" the "grade" very well

    If you read the ebay statement, they said that it would not be immediately enforced. However, you can still report it.

    My mistake, thought it was an ANACS slab.

    Auction started 5 days ago & the change took place yesterday....

  • Well, even considering it’s one day past the deadline for the ‘pretender-grading-companies’ … who could honestly sell this coin as an MS 67?

    Slabbed or not, and no matter who slabbed it… this coin is not an MS-Anything.

    The sad part is… someone without a great deal of knowledge, new to the hobby, is going to feel ripped off… yes, ‘buyer beware’ and all that but… it sucks when a newbie to the hobby is going to feel scammed.

    People start buying coins, find out they were scammed, and most (not all) most will then just stop collecting… stop buying… and that hurts the hobby.

    Radical over grading hurts the hobby as much as counterfeits…. IMHO.

    But new stuff is listed everyday, they're not enforcing it yet

    I sent the seller a question:

    "Having never dealt with (or even heard of) this company before, I have a serious question: Does GEC put AU coins into MS67 holders on a regular basis? -- Dennis"

    I hope they answer. image

    I got a reply! (Although danged if I can figure out what it means. "Pound sand" perhaps?) Here's what the seller said:

    Dear morganvams, James Allen wrote:

    You will be what you will to be;
    Let failure find its false content
    In that poor word, "environment,"
    But spirit scorns it, and is free.

    It masters time, it conquers space;
    It cows that boastful trickster, Chance,
    And bids the tyrant Circumstance
    Uncrown, and fill a servant's place.

    The human Will, that force unseen,
    The offspring of a deathless Soul,
    Can hew a way to any goal,
    Though walls of granite intervene.

    Be not impatient in delay,
    But wait as one who understands;
    When spirit rises and commands,
    The gods are ready to obey.

    Best Wishes, Keith
