Quality of 2007 Silver Proof Sets

I just got my silver proof sets and what a slopy job! The quarters are all crooked in the holders and the other coins are not much better. Is there no quality control at the mint anymore? Sad. I few also had marks on them from sloppy handling. I think I'll cancel my subscriptions.

  • Mine were rather poor quality, too (the clad proof sets were worse than the silver, though, and I know, from past experience, that the mint sets will look like chit). I can't wait for this 10-year program to end, so I can sell both of my complete sets.

I wouldn't know, although mine shipped a week and a half ago. No sign yet.

The mint shipped my AAdams coin yesterday (and fred-x tried to deliver it the day prior [not sure how that happened image]) but they can't get my PROOF silvers here in a week and a half.

I guess I got lucky mine looks fine.image It's a BIG set, too big really. If they did that for long I'd have long term storage issues.

Same here. Maybe they were outsourced to China?

  • Mine are fantastic. No problems that I can see at all.

The Presidents are SUPER nice. Everything else is great.

Unlike my regular proof set, the silver set was nice all around. The tiniest bit of spotting on Jefferson's face, but you really have to look to see it. I can live with that. The Washington looks 70 to me. All the silver and lower coins are nice too.

Mine look like they were packed in a "dust storm." Tiny dust particles all over the silver coins...image Out of 5 sets received, only one did not have any issues. (Now, which Grand kid is going to receive the good one?)
