Ok I'll step up to the plate here in support of bstat 1020. Please read this: Unless you personally have had dealings or messages with the Phillster; you have no leg to stand on. I have tried to help this kid. I actually successfully completed one trade {after a 100 pms back and forth}for one Washington silver quarter with Phillster. Also to further qualify this post, I now hold a check from him to sell some Kennedys to him. Also to further qualify my opinion; I will state to this forum that I hold a BA degree from a 4 year University in "Applied Social Relations" with a minor in Psychology. In other words I study human interactions and the American personality. That said, I will agree that unless you want to drive yourself crazy- Stay away from Phillster. He is one or both of two things: 1. A young kid with little experience. 2. Poor thing, has some sort of attention deficit disorder. After trying to help him and using a lot of pampering, I finally had to tell him to buzz off. Too bad but he wore out my nerves. I hope Phillster gets what he wants. And I truly hope he keeps collecting coins. But as for me; I am done trying to help him. He does not take suggestions. He does not answer questions. He ignores messages. So please quit beating up on Bstat will ya.
Yes that quarter trade was successful. I didn't get ripped, just maybe I gave a good for a not so good...But it took a hundred PMs back and forth. I have made a new comment today regarding Phillster. Sorry I was not following this thread until today. Please see todays comment. Sincerely, ragtag
Poor thing, has some sort of attention deficit disorder.
A.D.D., that would explain why so many PM's back & forth, he forgot what the last discussion was about. BUT I routinely check past PM's to find out without prolonging the trade/deal.
I guess we can say he forgot to add the quarter, ship the right Frankie & ship out the requested (his requested) way because of A.D.D..
Ragtag, you mentioned, "I have tried to help this kid." &". A young kid with little experience.", but also "I now hold a check from him to sell some Kennedys to him.". Don't you have to be 18 to have a checking account? Maybe under 18 with a parents signature?
I almost hope he's an adult, what a tarnish to the GREAT YN's that were/are here.
Someone needs to start a thread touting the outstanding YN that are & have been members here. Thinking back most have put me to shame.....Ivy League, Professional Grader, Own Coin Business (even if it's not a brick & mortar), etc.
I digress, and end this by saying I totally agree with ragtag, "....unless you want to drive yourself crazy- Stay away from Phillster." And that unless he does make things right with Brian, he has ripped him off.
What baffles me is why one would choose to deal with someone who has repeatedly had problems dealing with others. This reminds me of all of the Mr. T crap from a couple years ago.

Well, I didn't know of problems in dealing with WRITERSBLOCK before I got scammed by him.
I did not do my research into this guy before I traded with him. Only after I received his package I started looking up this guy.
There used to be a time on these boards were 95% of the folks were completely trust worthy. Not anymore and you have to research every person on here before a deal is made. For example, over on the Coin Swaps, Tags, and Giveway Forum, you have to get approved for Boom's swaps before you are allowed to be involved. I know, and everyone else knows the reason he is doing that.

Cladiator, what do you make of that 0.1 mm black dot on the eagle's right (facing) medial claw? Is that a speck of dirt, putty that has turned, oxidation, or tooling?

read the post, I sent it Priority mail. The exact total was $8.54 I believe. I take offense to the fact that you are more or less calling me a liar. Would you like me to post the receipt from the PO or are you going to take my word for it?
The way I see it is that you sent me about $3.00 worth of coins sent regular mail for 58 cents. Do you think this is fair for the almost full roll of Wheat cents I sent you? Wheat cents I picked thru to get you the dates you wanted, Wheat cents worth about $10.00, and shipping of about $9.00. Do you really think that is fair? My $19.00 vs. your $3.58?
Not to get off track here, but who spends nine bucks to mail ten bucks worth of wheat cents?
<< <i>And, you have no evidence that he didn't simply forget, yet you are calling him a thief.

Except for the fact that he did not live up to ANY of the agreements that he reached with Brian ... ie, undergraded, sticky crap, shipping ... and NO silver quarter. I guess that he simply forgot about those parts of the deal as well.

$9 to ship less than a roll of Wheat Pennies
Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and $50 insurance will only cost you $6.90 or did you just send it regular mail for about $2?
