sure looks like pcgs is turning out small quantities at 4.5% (the last forum post by coinmaster)
they had to be at 10-15% pass-through rate on 70's earlier, no way that coin retailed for 199 with a 4.5% pass through rate, in fact at the same time a board member was selling at 199 (to make sure collectors got a chance to get one) a huge West Coast Dealer was quoting 149. and apparently sold out.
why isnt the PCGS pop report STILL NOT UPDATED for these 70's?
I know individuals that have bought these from dealers in quantity. Well over 100 count combined. Why dont we have the updated POPS?
Can we get a count of 70's graded that have NO COIN NUMBER....as displayed on a stock photo a few weeks ago on the forum and on someone's ebay auction......apparently I cant look those up on the pop report.
The online population report gets updated every Sunday morning for the coins graded during that week. Someone said the registry set reports are more in real time and get updated as soon as the cert is entered in the system.

I found that not to be totally correct on the online pop report. Coins graded for me during the week, did not show up until the following Sunday.

Well the PCGS MS70 is about $300 on Ebay while the NGC conterpart is about $100 - $150. I know that PCGS is almost making it impossible to get MS70 and NGC are handing them out a bit more frequently, but is it 3x more fequently (I think yes)...
NGC is only going about 10% on the MS70's Early Release.
PCGS seems to be doing at least that. The problem is, I dont know why they are not reporting it on thier pop report.
Whoever came up with the 3x more (NGC vs PCGS) they are COMPLETELY WRONG for 2007-W. Early on, the pass through rate of MS70 at NGC was up around 15-18%, it tanked in the two weeks following to around 10%. Many dealers were extremely unsatisfied with NGC about it.
However, on the PCGS front, I have not seen anywhere near full disclosure on the pop's of thier FS MS70 coins yet. Why the delay???
Large dealers have many many coins graded MS70 and have sold them to other wholesalers. I personally know of a deal of 100+ pieces. We also know of groups being offered on ebay and the forum. This tells me that there has to be at least 250-500 pieces graded. Why do we only see 3 on the pop report?????????
Why do some coins graded MS70 FS have NO COIN NUMBER???? Are they included in the pop numbers under the coin number we know?
I thought Tim already reported on a thread that PCGS reports about 350 or so MS0FS graded at this point? Around 5%-6% grade through rate if I recall correctly? Wondercoin

Could it be that one or two or more dealers ended up with a high pecentage of MS70s from PCGS for some reason (hence the 100 pieces of MS70 and other stories). Perhaps a mistake by a grader, or perhaps a deal of some sort, but now they are keeping the numbers quiet until they have graded enough at MS69 and MS68 to not look like something weird happened?

Coins graded during the week will not show up in the population report but if you check the set "REGISTRY" they do show up. Check out this set and look at the 2006-W and 2007-W coins, you will see a more accurate report on the total that PCGS has graded. Currently for 2007-W MS70 = 344 coins out of a minimum total of 5708 coins graded which equals 6.026% of the total are graded as MS70 (Bare in mind that this percentage will go down when we find out how many MS68 or new MS67 coins PCGS has graded).

<< <i>I'm wondering if PCGS are grading such a low percentage as 70 whether it's more profitable for a flipper to submit to NGC? >>
Depends on if the PCGS 70's bring in 2x or more of what NGC 70's do.
On the other hand PCGS seems to have a slightly different criteria of what a 70 is and only gives it to the deserving MS coins.
