What are you talking about? What I see is a highjacked account with a seller from
Bejing, China. Zero feedback and with ebay for 7 years? Nah, don't think this is
for real in my book. At least I won't be bidding on this monster 1897 morgan that
he came all the way from China to buy at the St Louis show!

If you actually ran this auction (I hope not), paid for it, etc., you must have way too much free time on your hands.

Yes, I do think this seller went too far.

Does this seller think he/she is some kind of eBay police or vigilante. The person who started this listing must be craving attention.

At the end of the day, people will read this listing and not bid because they will think the seller is nutty. And if someone does bid, it would only be to fuel the seller's need for attention...and not because a bidder is serious.

...and at the end of the day eBay wins anyway because the seller actually paid to have this listing...now how is that for ironic image

If you happen to be seller, this is not intended as a flame at you...but come on...do something productive with your free time...like post something educational here that might be edifying to the forum.

If you are not the seller, then thanks for sharing an interesting laugh....

Yes, this scumbag stole my entire auction listing from item #150122012999, including the images. Since I self host my images, I changed two of them to expose this fraud for what it is. The seller does not yet know that what used to be two large images of the coin, are now two large warnings to prevent somebody from getting ripped off. Now, do you get it?

I understand. It is not clear...you should have worded your "image" differently. It looks like normal text. You could have said something like, "IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS TEXT, SOMEONE STOLE MY IMAGE....PLEASE REPORT THIS AUCTION TO EBAY...", etc.

Also, what's wrong with just reporting the auction to eBay directly and have them shut it down?

I love the 14-D listing. It claims he is a power seller, even though he has a 0 feedback rating. If you are going to steal a description, you should at least edit it to make sense.

  • With ebay's reporting system, it's much easier for you to report a problem than us, although I did send them a message

More people with coins like yours should do this to prevent fraud like this , or ebay should just STOP letting China the whole from selling on ebay,China the whole population(SORRY there has to be some honest sellers of items there, but it is stuff like this that makes you say no to buying from CHINA) that is 2 today that forum members have found so called owners of rare or nice coins being sold on ebay , that are clearly B.S ads. how many people a day get scammed from China? ebay makes the money but the buyers lose out unless they get buyer protection on the sale then I am not even sure if that works,I avoid anything from CHINA and and a few other country's, But I have sold items, to people there and have had no problem, .MoJo

Nope, perfect response, nothing Vulger or Pornographic in it either to potentially get people to try and turn it around on you. Well handled.

I was confused about what was going on until you explained it. With a broadband connection those images of words appeared instantly and it looked like it was just text, not an image.

An interesting way to deal with that problem, though. At the very least it's a good laugh. Hopefully no one is stupid enough to still bid on those auctions. It's a shame that people are so despicable to try to rob people of their hard earned money.

Simply awesome VamGuy. That's just what the dirtbag loser deserves. The funniest part is he can't read english so he will never change it or know what is up.image

Edited to add: Oh by the way, no you did not go to far. That's what he gets for stealing webspace and site traffic in addition to the photo.
Witty sig line currently under construction. Thank you for your patience.

I think you could have used "poop'', just as effectively.
My dad used to call me a "sawed off turd". That would have even been effective, too.

That coin is from Jetproofs and is for an auction that is really running. I called Jim and let him know what was going on and he told me he was aware of it and has contacted ebay.

As a matter of fact the pictures are screwed up. The auction is for a Norfolk coin, but the pics are for an Iowa coin!

Nice job! What a great way to expose a fraud.

There are certainly many, many problems with ebay's presence in China, but I doubt ebay is willing to risk losing all of the potential revenue from the emerging Chinese market by refusing to do business with Chinese sellers. It's a major problem that I hope is addressed soon in some manner.
