  • why would anyone buy from a seller with -2 feedback??? most insane! no paypal = no protection in this case... and of course... "if it looks to good to be true, it probably isn't"

  • and BTW.. you said you picked up a few... he shows that none have been sold as of yet... something is odd with that, no?

I would be very hesitant with the feedback record and the seller not taking paypal. Either the seller will not ship the coins, or will stick people with the Proof versions instead.

THAT"S A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't pay, if you do it will be money down the drain. There's no Santa Clause in coins.

Good luck trying to get that point across. A few months back there was a scammer selling ASE's for $9 each, and the members of this board singlehandedly purchased 500 of them. They knew it was a scam but posted "but what if it's not?" or "I'll take a chance!". Then they all started demanding refunds. It was hilarious.
  • Three strikes of ALL feedback!, I'll pass on this guy.........

1.) VERY POOR! DO NOT SELL TO HIM AS HE WILL NOT PAY AND DOES NOT RESPOND
2.) NEVER PAID. DO NOT SELL ANYTHING TO HIM.
3.) E-mailed me but never paid

  • This is where FEEBAY should step in and NUKE this seller. -2 feedback? no activity in 5 years. NUKE the account. Its clearly bogus.

Clearly, the seller is missing both the shift key and punctuation keys from his/her keyboard.

<< <i>you are bidding on some 2006 w inaugual issues silver eagles they are they are uncirculated which is sold out from the mint and they are the z6f coins so good luck bidders thanks four bidding i take cashiers checks and money order the coins well be shipped us soon the checks clear sorry no pay pal yet >>

In cases like this I advise not to bid.

  • No paypal accepted and the pics look like a proof coin to me. With no activity lately there's a good possibility of a hijacked account. Think I'll pass on this one. Good Luck aus

Probably so, literally, and it doesn't look like you who would be doing the stealing.

Cashiers check or MO only, no PayPal, -2 feedback, what's not to like?
  • Wow, I can't believe the feedback alone wasn't enough to raise a monsterous red flag on this one. I would give it about a 10% chance of being legit.

Edited to add: But I hope it works out for you, Good luck.

    Tennessee
  • also the winnier has to pay four shipping but that can be arranged .

Sounds like one of those sellers from China....if someone cant put a simple sentence together, I click the back button. Those that bought from this clown, well, there's going to be problems. Period.

edited to add: a -2 feedback rating? Forget about the sentence structure, his feedback should have made them ALL run away and hide!

  • Oh HELL...NOW this clown has 2006 W eagles for $31.00?????? Something is SERIOUSLY WRONG here!

aus3000tin, he has 30 of them....good chance to grab ALL of them at a great price!!! LOL

Easy to make payments when you're making big profits on e-bay. He's getting ready to get a new Benz.

No, those are proofs he's offering now. Someone purchased 23 more of the W eagles and he's now sold out. If I had known it was this easy to scam on ebay I certainly would have done it differently from the very beginning. I don't see why I even bother sending coins out.
  • Basestealer...I done seen the error of my ways....good call on the proof. I clicked on his other auctions, and he doesnt differentiate between the two in his auction titles. But, then again, he doesnt have them to deliver anyway (an opinion, NOT an accusation), so it makes no difference in the long run, does it?

LOL, no difference except being scammed for $65 versus being scammed for $31. If you think about it, the proofs he's offering are a good deal, because it's a half off scam.

The Plates on the Car are from Tennessee, and he does not live close to the Tennessee border at all, whole thing looks like one big scam, I did send the auction information to eBay Trust and Safety department but I'm sure they will do nothing. As for PayPal it shows it as an option, yet he claims not to have it...strange...

The auction I saw from the link showed the paypal logo. was that added later? and if so that means that this scammer...errr seller does in fact accept it?

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I still think this is a scam......................

The seller has just listed 2 unc ase's for $70 bin ............
He did have a buyer in the first auction for 2 , that may have backed out .

My gut say's , run as fast as you can .......................

The problem is greed has a way of grabbing some people........

It has a way of grabbing them alright, but karma is a wonderful thing--greedy buyers errr "victims" of fraud lose their house and home time and time again. Meanwhile, responsible and fair minded people lay down $100 or so and get a real ASE W eagle. $650 for no eagles (but the scammer says I'll get 10!) versus $650 for 6 eagles, hmmmm.... only a greedy gambler, blinded by moneylust takes a chance on the scammer. One reason why I'm getting out of the ebay selling business--I can't give people fair deals. Seriously can't give fair deals away, no matter what I do, but scams like this have them flocking in droves.

Those are proofs, not unc's as pointed out earlier in thread.

Good catch. I got sidetracked and wasn't able to read the whole thread...

Chris - I seriously hope you get what you purchased, but I put the odds at less that .0000001%
  • I hope you sent a USPS money order--it offers very little but SOME protection. It won't refund your losses, but any fraudulent activity will be investigated and possibly prosecuted by the US postal inspection service. Checks, bank wires, cash, etc offer absolutely no protection. I hope he had a physical address, too, and not a hotel or PO box or a third party PO box.

Actually, my friend stopped me from mailing out the payment.
Also, to answer your question. No, I am not leel6006.
I don't know if it's safe to put up my eBay name here or not, but if you go to eBay and look and the purchases list, I am listed twice as purchasing coins.

    Thanks,

    Chris
