The official CU Member "feedback" thread.

I know there are alot of people who buy and trade with each other on here, so I thought it might be nice to start a thread dedicated to transactions that take place between board members. There are also alot of generous people on here who give cards away to other members, so maybe there good will could be recognized on this thread also. Dont be afraid to post scans too. Please keep it to deals that were made with other members only. I would rather see your great Ebay deals on the "mail call thread".

I had 2 great transactions this week.

Thanks so much to RipMass and leadoff! RipMass sold me some nice 1955 Topps for my set. And leadoff sold me a Mantle and a Koufax from his recent submission. I was very pleased with the cards and how smooth the transaction was.

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!

I have had countless r.a.k.'s sent to me. I like to return the favors as much as possible.

I would be afraid to try and list all the guys that sent stuff to me. I would hate to forget someone.

So, thank you to everyone image

  • I haven't made many purchases from this board, but the ones I did have were positive. 86nova (Craig) sent me a group of 2006 Topps Heritage SPs that I needed for free - heckuva guy. I also bought a bunch of ArnyVee's leftover Drysdales with no problems.

  • I have many great deals with both David Barkus (BarkusD) and Frank Smith (Late1970sTopps). Both have great prices and Frank sends a very secure package of cards. Hard to ship 140 discs, very heavy. Tedw9 also sent me a free book and refused any paypal from me for shipping. A good bunch of people on this site.

Had some good deals, got a free SMR sent by Knuckles then later picked up a (words can't describe and no scan because I'm 1400 miles from home in Winnipeg) Terry Sawchuk Auto stick card, wow. And thanks also to winpitcher??? I think on the SMR.

Bought a nice card from Boopotts, can't remember which one???

And finally... most generously and never to be forgoten, a autographed Reg Leach from gameusedhoops. Still have an express envelope with his address on it in my computor bag. Wonder what's going to land in his box someday soon??? image

Now with the hockey rip comin up, I feel as though I'll be in debt with renrutmd, but goes around comes around... hear that renrutmd image

    image
  • I think onlypsahockey did a great job on the 80's hockey rip, he shipped fast after payments, boxes were well packed, all packs were sealed with clear roller marks and he also randomly sent participants extra packs since some of the boxes were 48 counts!

I have had several good trades with Joe Orlando. I send him lots of cards and a bunch of money.

He sends me cards in return but for some reason never any money?

The weirdest part of this whole deal is I keep doing it over and over and over again.

I guess I will never learn.

I've had the good fortune dealing with some awesome people on this board.

One person, whos name I forget (I'm sorry) sent me a free copy of the SMR a few months ago. I still use it, so thank you to whom ever was so kind.

Lawnmowerman sent me a sweet Willie McGinnest autographed card for my Patriots collection. Thanks Matt!

samsgirl sent me a bunch of sweet Patriots cards including some game used cards. And even though she is a Packers fan, she sent some Packers cards for my wife. Very kind lady, thank you samsgirl!

And recently Tennesseebanker sold me a partial set of cards at a great price. He was even so kind as to take payments from me until I could pay it off. Thank you so much Tennesseebanker!

Edited to add: How could I forget Brian48 who sent me a Topps hockey sticker set and album for free! Thank you so much Brian, I love the set!

And Lostdart who was kind enough to give me some advice which was right on the money. He saved me a bunch of hassle and got me on the right path. Your advice was much appreciated, thank you so much.

If I have forgotten anyone, I apologize. image

There are alot of great people on this board who help each other out. It's nice to read a positive thread like this, thanks for starting this Downtown. image

I'll agree that some of the people on these boards have been tremendous.

I've done a lot of trades with guys here, especially while I was doing the Heritage set in '05 and '06. The guys have been fantastic!!

And people like onlyanumber (Paul), TNP777 (Geordie), joestalin (Kevin), archstanton (Jim), and samsgirl (Julie) come to mind as people who have seemingly bent over backwards to help me out or send something nice.

I try to return the favors as often as possible. The trades I've made with some of the heritage guys have all worked out and would be too long to list. So apologies to those I didn't list, but you're certainly not forgotten.

  • I just had a great trade with "packman". I received the cards quickly and they were packed very well.

He even threw in some extra Reds cards, damn near the whole 76 Reds team including Bench and some other vintage.

David is a great trader and great person!

So far I have only dealt and met with GregM13. He is great. We have traded some Favres for Marinos, some HOF autos back and forth as well. I still am working on Marinos for him. I have had the chance to see most of his collection and he has had the chance to see most of mine. Both times we had a great time. In addition Greg does alot to help the guys on the HOF auto group put together group subs. I cant thank him enough for that.

He has hooked me up with another Marino collector who is planning on sending me some Favres. I can wait to complete the deal. When I do I will add him to the list.

  • I've bought and traded with many on this board. If I forget to mention your name, it's purely due to my rapidly deteriorating brian cell countimage
Gregm13- does a great job in assembling those group subs
jasp24- I wish I had his detailed knowledge of football and HOF RC's, but I'm a "big picture" guyimage
alohaet- One of the first guys I dealt with on this board. Just a wondeful human being. Hope you are doing well Ed
mantlefan- Knowledgeable, great cards, big help in completing and upgraing my Philly footballsets.
John Brinjiac- I don't know if he is on these boards, but he was very supportive in helping me build ny 52 Bowman Large set
Rick Snyder (Mint State)- The other person who has worked diligently with me on 52 Large. Thanks for all your help Rickimage
Itzagoner- I believe I was one of his first customers on Ebay. I hate buying from newbie sellers, but he was great and I haven't regretted it since.
Augustaman- Bill knows my sets (especially 71 topps baseball) better than me. Has been a tremendous help in completing and upgrading that set and others.
NearMint- One of the best on the net- nuff saif
Quality Cards- Okay Jay is great too.
shouldabeen- Mike has done a few deals with me and helped tremendously with my 48 Leaf set
sixdart- 85 Topps football wouldn't be where it's at if it wasn't for Marcus
metalking??- Mike always seems to find nice 85's for me
shagroth- I enjoy Andy's IM's and he always gives me a "heads up" when he sees a card I need.
Skinsfan- Art Miller is da man. Great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. Gave my Philly football sets a huge lift over the years.
AllanAlan- Joe was the one who originally "lit the fire" for me to build the "All Time football sets"
There are others such as downgoesfrazier, thefootballcardstore, bkritz, barkusd, that come immediately to mind. I have to say with all the people on these boards, I don't think I've had one bad experience.
    Umm... well maybe oneimage
