Doesanyone collect Ike dollars?

I buy all the Ike dollars I find at the bank and most of the Kennedy halves. Most are not in perfect shape but at times I will find a good one. I also have a Ike from the mint in the holder, a proof and I like it but I am not sure what these will be worth if I sell them some day. I never see anyone talk about the Ikes!

Have not been following these much lately, and may wind up selling the set since my interests have gone into other coins mainly gold for the last 3 years.
They are definitely difficult to find in higher grades, but the hunt is fun.
Here are a couple of recent acquisitions thanks to Segoja!
An MS66 PKOK
An MS65 Toner
Here's an MS65 1971-S Pegleg thanks to Grandam (and my pocketbook!
From an IKE collector standpoint, my advice to you is to attend some coin shows and peruse the IKEs some of the dealers bring along. If they don't have any and you show an interest, they will bring them the next time.
I like IKEs because at this point in time, they are very affordable and IMO a good collection to acquire and complete. You can also get into the variety phase of these coins and might even discover something new. Since the series is so unpopular, little real study has been done on the different varieties and types that are out there so the door is more or less wide open.
I think its about time that this coin started getting the recognition it deserves and perhaps it soon will.

Now, I have a complete set of MS high-grade Ike errors.....all except the 73-P and 74-S.

<< <i>What is PKOK? >>
This is the term used on this forum for Peacock since the term for a rooster cannot be used.
That is, unless you know the code™!
Which I dont.
BTW, that PKOK 71-D has the cleanest and strongest strike I have ever seen on a 71-D. Had it not been for that hit through the letter T in LIBERTY, it would have gone higher IMHO!

You can't say "peacock"?

I've only recently discovered the 40% uncs. These are fun to search since the really nice ones
really stand out a lot from the typical coins and are very attractive. I've always loved the reverse
design and can appreciate the obverse as well. The design really stands out even more in the 80%
silver of the silver clad. The nice ones aren't that tough either with about 5% of them being pretty
clean.
I am pretty happy with my set too.

Apparently someone does, but not me; except for the two in my 7070 set

Don't like Moon Dollars--why couldn't it have been the eagle sitting on Europe--much better imagery for Ike--it was Kennedy that hit the moon--Ike just saved our collective butts in WWII! Spoken as a veteran--but everyone has a say!
Here is one I've had for about 30 years.

Ditto. Had problems finding some decent UNC's today. A few nice proofs but nothing special.

Not too bad, even for the type II.

But Eisenhower signed the legislation creating the Space Program, Kennedy just continued it. Funny thing though, Eisenhower would have rather fed the hungry here in our own country rather than spend money on the space program. He never really saw any sense in exploring the moon.

Your detail suggests that Florida is too excited on that coin.
I'd love to buy brown box Ike's at or really close to silver spot all day long.
