<< <i>uncbob.....Welcome to the forum. Great to have you here even if it might be for a short time. I have followed this thread since it started and loved the scans of your 51 BB and 50 FB. Both are great sets. What application did you use to crop the 51's and add the white border? I think it really highlights the artwork. Have you done the same to your 50 BB or FB? I agree with others who have posted that arrowgrade may not have been the best choice, but I do wish you many more years of enjoyment of your cards before they are passed along.
PS..Great work on the furniture. >>
Thanks
Yeah did the 50FB and BB also
I cropped the photos out then used ULEAD PHOTOIMPACT toadd the black border and white border I did them all batch wise Cropped them all Added Black border and white border to them all
<< <i>Frankly Uncbob - I think the cards look better, MUCH better without the retouched borders, especially to collectors. >>
Probably right but when I did them 4 years ago I didn't realize there were sites like this
A hell of a lot of work to go back and redo them
Plus the raw scans are groupings of cards right next to each other and I would have to put them up in groups( trying to crop themout individually will sharpen the edges )with the long ones facing up
I collect the 1950 Bowman FB set -- I'm looking for anything not in my PSA registry set, and would be interested in sending in the freebies, as I'm near 75% -- if you have any, uncbob that you would like to sell or just grade, let me know.
Here is a link to my set to see what I am still looking for. I'm trying for PSA 5-7, but I'd like to have 6's and 7's.
I find it amusing that people think it's impossible that a 70 year old could use the internet. Most of the people on the ground floor of the computer age are now in their 70's and 80's. It wasn't just teenagers working for Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, and Honeywell in the 1980's. My family is full of engineers, back several generations. I don't know anyone that doesn't use a computer. Obviously this isn't the norm, but it's certainly more normal than people understand.
Nice cards.
I agree with everyone else that leaving them in the Arrow holders devalues them--that means it's in your best interest to remove them from the holder and eat the $3 fee. Stick with PSA, SGC, and BGS/BVG.

Any plans to add those images to your website?

The Arrow owner may be an honest person, I do not know.
BUT, the slabs are chuckle-fodder everywhere, because they
are perceived to be cranked out by a guy in his basement.
The problem is that NOBODY has any confidence in the slab.
Experienced folks assume that cards in such slabs have been
altered and/or are overgraded.
Even if the guy could be shown to be a straight-arrow, NOBODY
in the right market is going to place any value on his opinion.
PSA is the currency of the realm, right now.

My 1950 Bowmans
I'm also looking for 1948 Bowman, 1950 Feltbacks, 1951 Topps, 1949 Leaf, and 1952 Bowman Large.....
I'm glad to hear that you're the real deal, uncbob. Welcome to the boards.
I wish my Dad had kept some of his cards from the late 40's and early 50's.
