I'm member #123. As of a few seconds ago there are 28,386 members here now. The first few days of this forum were crazy. Everyone was moving over at the same time. Some used a new image and even changed names. Some changed names over the years because they had to and others had more than one name There was one member here that used to start arguments with his other ID. It's a crazy place. I'll bet there are a few here that joined at the start but can't say who they were back then.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
wow...great to see all these old friends/nics post.
This forum really spurred my interest in coins, and coin collectors, thanks to all you guys. And when I stopped collecting I still loved coming back here as I see you all do on occasion. The PCGS Forum is kind of like a cyber home you eventually always have to go back and log into.
I was lurking in Feb 2001 and joined a couple of months later, still in the first year class I guess. How many of you remember "Red Friday"? And I will always have a soft spot for the Mercateers who were all working on Merc sets at the same time. None of us big dollar guys, but just regular collectors trying to slowly build a set, all the while watching others do the same.
And I would also mention a seminal event, the PCGS 9-11 quarters that raised a bunch of money for the victims of that tragedy.
It has been fun with ups and downs, mostly good things. Looking forward to more.
Retired United States Mint guy, now working on an Everyman Type Set.
