It's not easy finding stuff these days. I was looking for type coins - half dollars - at the FUN show and only found one. This was the weakest FUN show for finding stuff that I've had since I started going to them in the mid 1990s. I found some coins for my want list customers, but I didn't see much for me, and the materal does not seem to be that hard given that it's only type.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I'm looking for MS63 Morgans, MS64 Walkers, and modern US bullion, and I can't find any for sale!
however, the market is awash with junk like draped bust half dimes, dimes, and quarters, and classic head cents on smooth planchets, and cheap early gold
I can find the coins I want.. but prices seem extraordinarily high lately.... I am not looking for slabbed '70's... just reasonable, raw coins. I do not like to go to ebay (unless it is a forum member - trusted).. but that at least affords a sniping chance. Show and shop dealers are just overpricing at this time. Cheers, RickO
There is an increasing percentage of low-end, recycled junk on both ebay and dealers' websites. Any nice, fresh type coins that show up at shows or dealers' shops are instantly gobbled by collectors or other dealers. I don't know how anyone can say the market is slowing; I'd say the flow of nice material available for sale is slowing, if anything. Yes, I have trouble finding the sort of thing that I look for, without paying moon money or going to a "specialist" dealer and paying agonizing retail prices. My recent purchases have been restricted to very scarce Seated material for which I'm willing to pay above price guide levels.
