What Series do you have complete?

Since I finished my Lincoln set today I thought I would start a thread with asking folks to list series they have completed. We can use the Dansco albums as a guide to what we call sets. I have a lot that are almost done, but these are really all done.

Lincoln Cents (1909-2006)
Jefferson Nickels
Liberty "V" Nickels
Roosevelts
Mercury Dimes
Franklins
Peace Dollars
SBA's with both Type II's

I've completed two sets of Lincolns, two of IHCs, one Barber Dime, one Mercury Dime, one Franklin, one Kennedy, one Eisenhower, one Washington Quarter, one Peace dollar, one Liberty nickels. Don't have all of them or at least all of them complete ... and the remaining ones will be sold or traded soon except for a couple.

The only complete set I ever put together was Indian cents. However, I have put together complete sets of key and semi-key dates of numerous others. I just never enjoyed having generic coins and the desire to complete a set was never too great to compel me to buy a common date.

I have my Lincoln cent set (1909 - date) complete with mainly XF and better on the first two pages. I dont have a 55/55 in it, but do have a 22-Pl. I personally do not consider any error coins a necessary part of a set for it to be complete.

I've also got a really nice well matched buffalo nickel set that is complete. Again, there's no error coins such as the 18/7-d or 37-D three legger. I'll probably get the three legger eventually, but have about -100% desire to own the 18/7-D.

I did have my Merc dime collection complete, but sold the 16-D out of it (NGC F15) and paid off a college loan. I may look for a full-rim G/VG example at the Houston show that wont cost me some exhorbant premium to buy. That would recomplete the set.

That's pretty much it for me. I'm about 20% complete with the 7070 type set.... long way to go there.

My pride and joy is my Barber Halves. 69 of the 73 coins are PCGS XF45. I'm trying to find the other four but have AU or slightly lower coins in those spots.

I did put together a raw Buffalo nickel set with the 18/17, 3-leg and the d/d and d/s. I also put togther a raw merc set, a gem Ike set both Unc and proof in PCGS holders.

That's a great undertaking and probably a lot more popular than some people will admit. xf45 is a tough grade to put together in a set, for sure.

The only one I have ever come close to finishing is our Circ Merc set, I have the 16-D but not the two overdate errors.

Maybe I'll finish that set if they right coins come along...

Sadly I have no goal as of right now, money is tight... but it's always tight image

The collection goes slow but steady

When I finally buck up for the 1909-S, my EF/AU Indian cent collection will be complete save for a handful of upgrades on relatively inexpensive dates. I've just never gotten around to that one yet.

    By date:

    flowing hair halves
    draped bust, HE halves
classic head $5 (less 38-D MM)

    by redbook variety:

    flowing hair halves
draped bust, HE halves (less knobbed 6 NS, 7 known)

    by die marriage:

draped bust, HE halves through R.6 rarity

    Almost:

    draped bust dimes less 1804
    capped bust halves less 1815

Completion is no big deal for me, as you are not really complete in pre-1839 series until all die marriages, re-marriages, and die states are collected. I would rather learn about another series than get stuck on a stopper. Its about the journey, not completion!

After reading the replies, it's clear there have been some great sets completed! Very impressive accomplishments, everyone.

I have never attempted a date/mint set of any series.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Peace dollars in MS64/65, $2.50 Indians in MS63/64, Franklin proofs in PR65Cameo and higher/(deeper). I sold the first 2 series and have kept the Frankie proofs. I'm currently working on (toned) MS Frankies and am about halfway there.

I don't collect very many series.

I consider my Lincoln cents to be complete although I have not kept up with them since the 1960s. I also have a complete set of Indian $2.50 gold pieces.

I'd like to finish my Red Book collection of early half dimes, but the 1802 is beyond my means, and I've always had bad luck with the "normal date" 1796 half dime. I've got all of the others.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Wow, some nice sets above!
    for me:
Lincoln cents less the 09svdb (never paid more than a penny for each - most found in circulation
    or in hoards I've bought
Peace dollars all 64 or better
Morgans less the 93s as I just sold my VF and am looking for higher grade (no 1921's)
Add'l complete UNC New Orleans Morgans
    Add'l complete CC Morgans x 2
Never tried any others but am looking at Mercs for next challenge.
