<< <i>Kudos on the record collection. Uh, where do you sleep? >>
The records I can honestly say I would have a hard time getting rid of. Although I haven't been able to play them for awhile (6 year old running around makes it impossible) to me nothing beats the sound that comes from the old vinyl.
And as to where I sleep, I sleep in a bed. But seriously this house is approx 1500 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and I have the one room. Basement is the same size of the house so when I can I have one section that I will have for my collection. Will be nice to be able to display everything in a better manner but this room works well enough for now.
<< <i>Jeff, don't worry too much about 1960toppsgal.

Yeah Matt I'm not going to lose any sleep over my new found friend who is so upset at my junk.
Barfavder- I was psyched when this thread popped back up. I love looking at collections like this. It just shows the depth and varied interests a person has. Plus there seems to be something in every photo that brings a person back to a certain time in their lives. keep the photos coming and good luck
So my girlfriend thinks I have lots of baseball cards in my closet. I'd guess I have maybe 9,000 at the most, which I'm sure we all agree is *not* a lot. I decided to send her a link to this thread.
Here's her response:

I'm not exactly sure what that means, if anything, but there it is.

Well it shows that she did look at the pics pretty closely as she spotted these.
They were behind some Salvino's Bamm Beano's (sounds like some wild kind of chili ) so I just moved them to take a new pic.
And just for you I took this pic.
One thing about moving stuff around though. I really need to dust. Ahh, ahhh CHOOOO!!!!!!
I can't believe they got away with that Bond album cover.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
I have a few more of the cereal boxes kicking around in my closet but my son is asleep so I didn't want to risk an avalanche and end up waking him up but I did have these that I had taken out so I just did a quick scan.
Bo Knows Cheerios
Breakfast Of Champions, Uh Well Maybe Not But I Have Eaten Alot Of These
My Latest Obsession 79 Cent Drinks At The Local Mobil Station
Should dig out the large stack of McDonalds plastic cups from a few years ago. Probably have 50 or so.
look at it this way jeff, i saw the floor of the rubecave once, floors are highly overrated-just flat, icoved mine back up with stuff, although i do have tunnels now
Well spring has sprung (yeah right, been snowing for 2 days but thankfully it's not amounting to much) and after digging around in the closet I NEEDED to do something with this room so I threw everything outside and had a nice bonfire.
Sure I did.
In reality I have been doing my best to get some order to the room and I am pretty much getting there. First thing I decided is the old desk wasn't cutting it so that had to go and in it's place I put this.
That actually worked out great and now I have a nice place to sort through cards and can use the old computer to play music and games on when the main computer in the house is occupied.
The area where I have my cards is now completely accessible. Now I can finally start getting them in a better order than what they currently are. I mean I know where most everything is but there is no real order to them.
Rearranged my Star Trek and Star Wars collection. They were kinda mixed up with each other so now that is in a better looking order.
And I tried my best to have this purple catch all removed from the room to gain more floor space but nothing I done would work so it will stay and hopefully not collapse with all the stuff I have on it.
And it should be noted that the area in these pictures is roughly 13 feet by 13 feet. The room is slightly bigger if one counts the entry way into the room but I haven't completely cleaned that area (ran out of cleaning supplies) so I'm not taking updated pictures of that area yet.
Oh and that closet. Well it's a tight squeeze but I managed to leave enough room for me to get to it.
So a much needed cleaning (still in progress) and overhaul of the room and although I'll never be 100% satisfied with it as I don't have enough space to properly display everything I would like to (one day I will get that room in the basement started and finished), I feel at least like I have accomplished a little something.
That poster for the Ray Leonard / Donnie LaLonde fights reminds me, my friend knew Lalonde's brother in College. I think he used to take polaroids of his poo and post them on a cork board im his dorm.
jeff, you have a floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man i nedd to do that to the rubecave bad i vcan dust with a leafblower and have it sucked out thru the exaust fans, but its rough i liie dust, its mine

The pics are actually postcards from the post office.
A dear friend from another site sent them to me and I bought the frames and had to to a little removal of some of the wood on the frames to make them fit but am very happy with the results.

To funny. Never even thought of that.
And thanks all for the great comments. I'll be the first to admit I have way to much stuff but it feels good to be able to get some sense of order in that room.
Just when you thought it was safe to walk into that room I had to go and add another item.
This was a find at the local dump. They have a section where all electronics are placed before they are cataloged and placed in a storage building. Once in the building they are off limits but anything that hasn't been cataloged can be had just for asking.
So I just had to have this.
Pioneer PL-L33 Linear Tracking Turntable.
Very clean and has a nice Stanton cartridge along with some cleaning accessories. Powers up but it's missing a belt (can pick that up for $8 on eBay) and the drive motor does turn. Not sure if the tonearm is functional. Still a nice free addition to my turntable collection (this is number 7).
Have you EVER thrown anything out!! haha!! Just kidding. That's some great stuff you have. thanks for sharing. why don't you shoot a quick video (can use your digital camera if you don't have a video camera) and post it to youtube!!
I have twelve Sports Cards videos on youtube w/ over 75,000 views in total!! Vintage cards like 1951 Mantle, 33 Goudey Ruth, T206 Cobb, etc (copy and paste link below):
<< <i>Have you EVER thrown anything out!! haha!! Just kidding. >>
Actually I have thrown many things away. As an example I had some old stereo equipment (radios/receivers/turntables) that no one wanted to buy for rock bottom prices (no more then $5.00 each) so I got out the hammer and smashed them into pieces, ripped out any and all wires and connectors that could be reused and off to the dump they went.
Do you play that Strat much? I don't own a Strat anymore - gave it to my son - I play an Ibinez.
BTW - I played drums in a band for many, many years before I switched to guitar.
mike >>
Actually that is a controller for a video game (Rockband).
My real guitars.
Michael Kelly Hourglass Tribal Sun Archtop
Close up
Amp
Cheap Multi Effects Pedal
Also have a Wasabi Distortion Pedal
Couple cheap guitars (bought both with practice amps, straps, etc for $100 for the pair)
An old Guyatone Tube Amp that had blown speakers. Needs some work (hopefully someday) as it has really nice sound.
And here is the catalog showing my first guitar that I bought back in the 80's. (Had a Gorilla amp with it)
Bought the Michael Kelly a couple years ago as I had sold my first one almost as soon as I had bought it. Young and no patience at the time and the money I made off it seemed more important at the time.
Well years go by and like I said I picked up the Michael Kelly at a great price ($149.00) after the in-laws gave me the old Guyatone from their church. I had been basically teaching myself over the past couple of years and even though I still suck at it I was having the time of my life learning.
Well as most know Wyatt was born and being a stay at home Dad I've rarely had anytime to practice in the past 5 months. Not complaining though as I love my job. My fingers are getting soft again and I'm back to where it hurts to play. But I'll keep plugging away at it as music has always been the thing that kept me going throughout my life and always will and hopefully my passion will be passed on to my boys.

Just thought I would bump this to the main page in case anyone hadn't been through this before. It really is a great thread, and have looked at the pics several times over the past few years.
If this is your first time, enjoy...
We need some updates on this thread as well!! Please.
I was going back catching up on some of the old threads and thought this one would an interesting one to recycle. Does the OP still post on the board? The guys from American pickers would probably like to take a look around this place.
