Working on moving the box right now! I;ll be back with the info soon.

The box is on the way to Arlea1957 , intact. I didn't even open it. Never even had time to.

Delivery Confirmation # for the Flat Rate Priority Box is 0304 1560 0002 7408 4291. I also insured the box for $50, just the same as when it arrived here.

Contents I presume, will be exactly the same as when shipped to me as AGAIN, I never opened the box. image
  • Received box today... woo hoo lots of junk...
Here is what I received... much of it needs repacking and will do so as I go through it a bit further and decide what to take.

    cheers

    Clay,

May I suggest calling the fellow with the box and telling him (or his wife)
that if the box and it's contents aren't received by the next person that
the law enforcement officials in their neighborhood will be visiting soon?

    What does everyone else think?

See my thread on the US Coin Forum.

This seems very strange - and for only a lower value box.

Guys, I do have the Master List of all swap club members but remember, I basically was made to give my home of 20+ years away (by choice) on Nov 15th of last year and a lot of my "stuff" is STILL in boxes.

I'll keep looking for it (the list). I hope my Mother didn't throw it away thinking she was helping me to lighten my load.

I still say this is not like Mr. Varco, at all. The guy I know is caring and quite compassionate towards others. (This is fact).

It's also NOT like he made off with The Mother-Lode of coins. I refuse to think badly of him. There MUST be a credible explanation.

I'd also be willing to help JB with his losses. I'm confident a lot of other members here would also chip in to help him with the junk box.

I hope he's OK and everything works out. image
  • According to the dealers in my area, most every coin I have would probably qualify for this tag, even the ones I just bought from them as "problem free" coins. I can probably kick in some to help out, but they will be real low end junky coins more than likely as I'm to poor to even afford high end junky coins

boom, no ones jumping to conclusions, but let's look at the facts to this point.

arlea had ebay auctions running well past the point that deep concern for the box was expressed.
second, arlea logged in a couple weeks ago, so he's well aware of the search party now on for this box,
and yet he did not make a post to this thread and explain anything.

now, either something is going on that we are not being told i.e. he felt justified in taking the coins
because he felt screwed on something in the past,
    or
he took the coins knowing well what he was doing.

also, check out arlea's sigline quote. that doen't seem a bit ominous to you?
