Problem and junky coin tag - at long last - finally made it home

Would anybody be interested in a tag to do some spring cleaning of your problem coins? All coin problems, such as cleaned, whizzed, dipped, AT, etc must be disclosed, and tag members could feel free to take legit shots at the coins in the tag. Holed and damaged coins would be welcome too.

The box has finally made it home, and my YN is checking out the contents.

Thanks to all who participated.

I'll plan on launching the tag after Christmas. No ugly ties allowed in the box, but ugly coins are! image

Let's try for a minimum of 5 before we commit to start.

    Hi dcamp78!

PM me with your name, address, contact phone numbers. I'll keep this just in case we need to contact you, or if the forum goes poof! The rules will be similar to my "focus on classics" tag, except this will be for problem, junky and even moderns. I'll call it the "spring cleaning" tag - LOL.

    Anyone else interested?

I bet you guys thought this would never get off the ground!

OK - here goes my outgoing junk:

    1 cent Indian corroded
    2 cents 1865 holed
5 cents 1869 dark/corroded, Bid in GOOD is 13.50, figure 5 bucks for it
5 cents 1888 AG, scratch on obv, semi key date. Bid in Good is $22, figure 10 bucks
    5 cents 1908 dark/corroded
    Half dime 1842 bnd/damaged, figure $5
50 cents 1876 pocked, either been in a fire or maybe fake. Figure about $4
50 cents, 1971-S proof, hazed - worth about a buck?
50 cents, 1966 PCGS MS 63 (boy was I dumb when I paid to have this graded, but it sure is a nice coin!) How 'bout $12 for the plastic?
50 cents, 1979-D Original BU coins - 9 of 'em, worth something over face value!
    Morgan 1882-O Fr
Morgan 1883-O looks polished and stained
    Morgan 1884-O kinda ugly

Bank Wrapped BU State Quarter Rolls - One of each, all D's:
    Nebraska
    Nevada
    Virginia
    New Hampshire

    Darkside:
1969 Canadian mint set, not in orig envelope
2 rolls (80 coins) Unc mexican 1 pesos - about the size of a quarter, no fair using them in parking meters!

Tokens - take one or take 'em all - who knows what they are worth? Would like for my YN any train related tokens or stuff.
10 big 1962 worlds fair 21st centory brass tokens
13 big Las Vegas Center dollar tokens
3 dollar size slot machine tokens
12 Majestic Star Casino 25 cent tokens
    2 plastic match play tokens
    5 misc tokens

2 nearly new PCGS blue storage boxes - figure 3 bucks each

So, who wants first crack at this stuff?

    Hi Mojo,

Got the tag comin' to ya. Added some more stuff to make the "throw weight" test!

Mailed 1/8/07 - will post tracking #'s later.

There will be a dollar and a half dolar tube - you gotta open 'em up because I filled them up with the different coins and tokens.

If anybody wants to put in junk 90% or 40% silver, figure 9X on the 90% and 4X on the 40%.

I would like some railroad related tokens if anybody has 'em.

Progress report. Just keeping everyone posted. As you all know I am in posession of BOTH tags.

In an effort to save time suffice to say that I am just opening the other tag box today.

I ask everyones' patience at this time, particularly with all I've been dealing with.

Finally wrapped up a private client's account yesterday, thank God, and dealing with "other events."

One day at a time, doing the best we can. This tag box is next to be opened and dealt with.

I will keep everyone abreast off the goings on round here. It's cool! image
