Just thinking about that great Tony Bennett version of "If I ruled the world"... You know 'Everyday would be the first day of spring'.
In my case, every thread would... focus on the subject of the thread out of common courtesy
with occasional witticisms and lapses of humor etc.
    Just my wish....

and Oh, my grandkids could read this board because presumably adults are fully capable of finding appropriate avenues for getting their yah yahs out. Mustn't forget the yah yahs... image

Please try to find out what happened through PM to the mods. Don't keep pushing the issue and get yourself whacked also. People are getting whacked because of the push factor. The push factor started the whole mess to begin with.

    Cheers.

He knows precisely why he was banned. He posted a very obvious attack on PCGS right in this thread, which has since been deleted. This feigning innocence crap is tiresome.

  • Mike King's comments in this thread were reasonable, IMO. Not sure why he would be censured for them. Wish I had an archive so I could recall them exactly.

and a bunch of the other HS that was in the thread was within the rules ? I still see many people that did not go by the rules still here.

Not a separate issue. The insanity should be good for all and not for a select few. HRH was clear I think and now the rules have been changed or so it seems. Maybe this place needs a cooling off period. It sure looks like people want to push the issue which in turn will wreck the whole place for everyone.

While I understand that these forums are PCGS property and PCGS has every right to do what they wish with them, I think that it is a bad idea for PCGS not to allow posts that are critical of them. I am sure that many, if not most, of the posters here are PCGS customers. PCGS should not just allow the critical comments of customers, they should do everything they can to seek out such comments so that they will be more responsive to the needs and wishes of those of us who keep them in business. In the old days I respected the way that PCGS allowed critical posts, it showed that they were secure with their position as the leading TPG and cared about what their customers thought. Now I wonder if there are problems that are not yet obvious to the public? I think PCGS is a great company and I hope that is not the case, but that is what seems to be suggested by such concern about negitive comments on what is after all nothing more than an internet chat board.

True, but still a separate issue. It gets old watching banned members at forums, (not just here), pretending to be innocent and clueless about the reasons when, in fact, they know damned well why.

First, I was in the air last night and missed the fun. Somebody, please PM me the juicy details!

<< <i>As I said last night in a thread that I though would stay and not go poof.

Rules are a good thing- they give you a chance to understand.
    That said-
I do not agree with the comparison made here that this board is similar to being invited to someones house for dinner and then bashing the host/hostess. For example--if you are invited to someone house for dinner AND they sell flowerpots in their den for 30 bucks a pop--you SHOULD have the ability to discuss the pro's AND CON'S about those flowerpots you are paying for-- if you see a flaw or problem on one of the 30 dollar flowerpots shouldn't you be able to talk about it???? Not bash but discuss???

I think that many here ARE over-reacting to a degree because they are not seperating the difference between strong constructive discussion and blatant outright bashing.

I will not, nor will I ever, call a lousy coin in any TPG plastic a beauty out of fear that the TPG company will ban me from speaking on their forum----nor would I expect them to, but by the same token- the discussion of the problem coin should be civilized and not a third grade mudslinging.

I will continue to post my thoughts and opinions on this board in what I consider a non-bashing way, but my opinions may include stating that a coin in a slab may be overgraded or in my opinion misgraded----let me add that I don't care whose plastic it is in. If I get banned for giving my opinions in a non-bashing way-OK. Likewise--If I get banned for bashing PCGS on their forum - then I deserve it--I did read the rules.

I hope these boards do remain open, but I also hope that if members are going to be banned that it is done for the right reasons and done fairly----Please do not let a chosen few have free sailing while others are on thin ice.

A successful coin Forum attracts intelligent people.

These kinds of folks tend to ask questions. These questions

lead to discussion. These discussions then lead to hard truths.

This Forum lets management know what is going on in the real world,

outside the corporate cotton batton. Truth, distilled, pure and accurate

is the stuff that allows for wise bussiness decissions. To crush the process

turns the Forum into a stage for innocuous, vanilla drivel. This may produce

a sense of peaceful calm. However this is the calm of the sterile world

of the dead. It teaches nothing, feels nothing, learns nothing, benefits nothing

and in the end, must dissolve into nothing.
