I collected in the early 60s and stopped in 1972, (thats when I met the girl I would marry). I started up again in 2000 and have very much enjoyed the hobby since. Since then I look at all my change. This find is nothing special but it does display the collectability of this series. This has happened to me several times: I'm checking my change, looks like a 59 at first, no, a 39. Clean, odley without the 80s to 00s dings and the "slot machine face". Since 1980 I've found some nice 1939s, even an ms63-s in change up in Klamoth Falls.
Just found an 1918 Lincoln (VG) in the penny bowl at the cafeteria last Friday.
Gonna be tough to top michael's bust half find!

1920ish Lincoln cent. The coin is so worn I cannot make out the last digit.

A couple Buffalo nickels is about it for me, one was dateless and the other from the late 30s. Don't see older coins like I used to. However, the entire span of Jeffs are still out there. I get a silver war nickel about every 18-24 months on average. That is the series I would recommend for the youngest YNs, after or instead of the state quarters.
About 10 years ago my wife got a 1934 Merc Dime from a convenience store. More recently, I got a 1962 Lincoln Cent in change...in quite respectable condition I might add.

Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;
Found these while searching some rolls from local bank back in August, the 1883 was very pleasant surprise- had found the two 1909 's first. A weak later or so I found another Indian head in a roll-not as nice a shape or as old however.
